Kindle app on PC not letting me view a downloaded book?

So I have a Kindle app on my PC. I downloaded a book from amazon and paid for it. The problem is that whenever I try to view the book, it'll show a white background and loading sign. But then it says: "TITLE NOT AVAILABLE This title is not available on Kindle for Windows 8" and automatically close the system. What should I do? My Kindle Fire charges weird.is this normal.?

I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and when I try to charge it, it only charges when the screen is unlocked and lit.
Once the kindle locks, after non-activity for a few minutes, it locks up, but it stops charging too. Its annoying because I want it to have a full charge but I constantly have to check up on it to make sure the screen doesn't go away.

Also, if I'm playing a game or reading a book it also stops charging.So it only charges when the screen is lit but I'm not doing anything on it.

Copyright Of Other Writers?

Hi All,

I'm thinking of writing a book. Nothing serious - more as a hobby, as writing is always something I've enjoyed doing.

If I ever finish it, I like to think I'd trying my hand at self publishing, probably via platforms like Amazon Kindle and Apple.

However, since I'd be responsible for all the legal side of my book, I have some concerns regarding copyright.

In my book, one of my characters say, "Real vampires don't sparkle," and "Think more Dracula than Edward Cullen." Also, "Why is life suddenly like I'm in a Harry Potter book?"

By saying these quotes in my book (which I'll obviously copyright under my own name) be breaking copyright of the other writings, such as JK Rowling and Stephanie Meyer?

For Christmas my husband got me a basic Toshiba laptop. He said it cost $300. I have a book that I purchased through iTunes and apparently can now only access it through iBooks. Even though I heard things to the contrary, I am facing the same thing when it comes to the Kindle application.Is there anyway to Put them in a PDF form? Alternative to Amazon Prime?

Please read before answering.

For the life of me I cannot find any other monthly or yearly membership sites for Kindle compatible books. We bought my mother an e-ink Kindle for Christmas. Amazon's $80/yr Prime membership only offers one "free" rental a month. That breaks down to $6.67 per book once a month and a good $5-$10 per book on the rest of Amazon's catalog. Did I mention she tears through two to three books a week? That's a hell of a lot of money for the mere convenience of a reader. She doesn't stream videos and she doesn't shop much online, so none of the other benefits of an Amazon membership really apply to her.

Does anyone know of a good alternative that won't cost her hundreds of extra dollars a year? I hear that the selection of ebooks at the library is sad compared to the selection she's used to in paperbacks etc., and she's already read most of the classics she cares to read, so the free collections of 1001 public domain books won't do her much good either. I'm not about to get her mixed up in illegal downloading. She wouldn't know how to navigate or protect herself in the torrent world anyway. Google can't help as too many people have typed in the words "free ebooks" and "Amazon Prime vs. Netflix", rendering search results useless. Any ideas?

Here is the situation: I have lived in the US for about 7 years so during that time I gained some English fluency however I never study while I was abroad ( I was too busy working).So I used to speak fluently but my spoken English was not grammatically correct.My writing was worst. Now I am back to France I wish not to forget my English knowledge and I even expect to further improve it ( I have more time).An English teacher that I know, told me that if I read a lot for a very long time ( at least 2 books per week ) then in my particular case it won't be necessary to learn the grammar as I will learn it while reading.Do you agree with him?

Here was the situation for about two months: I met this girl on a dating site, talked for a bit, met up and right then, she asked for money to help her mom who had gallstones, which turned out to actually be her gallstones.

I'm none too proud of what I did but I gave her money out of the kindness of my heart, a lot more than I should've to begin with.It's easier to refuse someone digitally than to do it physically.

This is her description and biography: fairly attractive, long platinum hair with some high lights, nice body, lives just at or under the poverty line, very nice and sweet; raped last year, gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Noah (sweet little guy), didn't tell me she had a baby until we met, dropped out of homeschool (pretty sure that was a lie), mom would not let her leave until she paid for crashing her car.

I can barely afford to keep myself fed. I kept telling her this. She eventually decided that I should sell my entertainment equipment (Kindle Fire, game systems, etc.) to be with her. Because she always needed just a little more money for mom to let her leave.

I figured it was for her benefit if I told her the truth that I can't make 100% of the sacrifices when I relationship is supposed to be a team effort and more importantly because there was no way I was going to be able to support her and her baby. She kept trying to call me back, promise to take my virginity (she didn't, I want my first time to be with someone I truly love), sent me dirty pictures (extremely detailed… ) even threatening to use her mom's police boyfriend to find me.

I just added a maroon clown to my tank. I had an ich problem not long ago and so I did hypo salinity and downsized a 10 gal while doing so bc I only had a fire goby and hermit crab. I just moved back to the 30 gal, had to add a lot of new water and my goby was doing good so I decided to buy a maroon clown and a Sally crab. I put some of my water in the bag for an hour and introduced it to my tank.It hasn't seemed right at all.It was kindling itself between the glass and a rock, lays down, leans against things, does a circle now and again almost like swim bladder. Not long oater being introduced I also put a new bag of sand in, would this hurt it having sand throughout the water and is there such thing as too much air bubbles as I have lots of fine bubbles bc I have a filter power head and air stone bubbler. Anything?

My daughter is addicted to books?

My daughter is fifteen years old and addicted to books. She goes to the library every weekend and checks out at least 10 novels, and she finishes them all but the following weekend. She loves fiction, especially fantasy, romance, and mystery. I don't know if she should be reading this much. Her grades are quite bad because the second she gets home from school she starts reading, and no matter how much I nag her she will not do her homework. If I yell she locks herself in the bathroom with her books. I cannot ground her, because she doesn't care, and she will gladly stay home and read books. I cannot take them away because she hides them, and if I do find them she will download books on her kindle which she hides from me also. She does not pay attention in class, she reads her own books the entire time. She reads at lunch everyday at school. She tells me that school is a waste of time, and that she knows all the material already, which is true because although she doesn't pay attention in class, do class work, or do homework she gets A's on all her tests. But she has all C's because she doesn't do her homework. I don't know what to do with her. If I don't let her go to the public library she checks out books at school. How can I make her care about her grades and schoolwork more than these books? She never stops reading! All weekend long, every weekday day from 3 pm to 11 pm she is reading her books. I don't know what to do with her! It is vacation now (last day of school was the 21st) and since the start of vacation she has finished 17 novels! For Christmas all she asked for was books and amazon gift cards to buy kindle books!

Necessary features would be organized folders or tabs, the ability to back it up (as easily as possible), I need to be able to draw diagrams or sketches and insert them into the notes.
I would also like one that can translate my handwriting into text, but if that's not available on the apps with the other features, I can use a keyboard.
I'm using this for class, so it must be able to take lengthy notes (not looking for a checklist).

How to make wifi faster with a lot of devices?

I have AT&T uverse Internet and the modem/ router that they make you use. Recently I have noticed with the extra devices after Christmas that the wifi is a lot slower to where it takes almost 2 minutes to load a google search on my iPhone.

I was wondering if there is some device or something that I can buy to amplify the Internet or if I can hook up my old Linksys router up and have half the devices on one and the rest on the other? If so please explain how.

Recently, I ordered an Amazon Kindle Fire and I just got it today. I used my mom's Amazon account to purchase it.So when I got it, the Kindle's name was my mom's name. I'm really impressed with all its features and I'm probably going to show it to some of my friends but it's name is my mom's name. I'm considering buying a Kindle Fire HD but was wondering if its worth getting the 16 or 32gb version? I probably won't use it to watch that many movies and my music is normally on my phone. Hello,I'm looking into buying tablet for the first time and kind of having problem with so many options. If someone can help me, it will be great. Basically, I want a tablet I can do internet with good speed when I'm outside, watch movie with decent quality. I'm not savvy with gadget and I'm not going to use many apps. Just want simple tablet that runs on 4G LTE that I can do webbrowsing and watch movie. Also, it has to have korean language. I saw asus, samsung galaxy, I pad 4, kindle HD fire have option of running on 4G. Can someone narrow down further for me? with good reason? I know I pad4 is best. But, if I can get other tablet with cheaper price that can do fxn I need, I don't want to get I pad.

Also, I read kindle HD 4G uses AT&T that allows 250MB per month usage. If I use 4G, let's say, 5hrs/day, how many day would it last? Thanks

Hey so price isn't too much of a deterent here I'm wondering which one to get for the following reasons.
- Best books interface, best book store with the most available content
- Watching TV shows on netflix
- Social networking (applies to all i'm sure)
- Can download my music from iTunes (can nexus and kindle do that? how to I put my music on there)
- App availability, biggest app store
- Fastest one in general
I would buy the iPad mini immediatly but the problem is iBooks is terrible and has none of my textbooks in its store. Kindle literally has everybook i could ask for in its market place including my textbooks.this book store thing is the biggest concern, does the nexus 7 have a bookstore similar to that of the kindle?

I've had internet for years, but it is all wired. Now I have a "Kindle Fire" tablet and I cannot use it to get online because it is asking for wireless internet. I see no where to plug an ethernet to it, so I think that option is out.So if I buy a wireless router to work with my modem, will it give me internet access for my tablet? Recurring dream from childhood 'til now?

As the title says, this is a recurring dream I've had since childhood that occurs every few months.It's not a moving dream; instead, it's more of a 3D snapshot of an event.

The dream is about Joan D'Arc, or at least what my mind wants to interpret.It's a snapshot of her leading a battle near a city that I can't recognize, but it has always been in one of two perspectives.

The city in the background is in ruins and ablaze; soldiers charging forward and dead laying at their feet. Joan is standing with a stern face (perhaps determination?) with flagpole steadied in one hand and sword (rapier as far as memory serves) pointed towards the adversary in the other. She has short-cropped hair, shining, yet dented armour, and is always wearing a blue-white combination of colors. I remember distinctly the sight of kindled ashes riding the wind and her left foot propped up on a small mound of rubble.

The second perspective is much the same, only it's from her point of view. I remember seeing the point of the sword aimed to the heart of the opposing general who I cannot see clearly. The enemy is in mid-charge toward me and out of my peripherals, I see the dead at my feet and my soldiers going forward to meet them.

Yes, I do play video games and read lots of fantasy/ sci-fi. However, I must state that this has been recurring since I was 8yrs of age as I have been keeping a journal of such dreams and thoughts. Can anyone help me to decipher what this dream means?

Did horrible on my state test really depressed? - 1

Im in 8th grade and i take the meap … Meap is for Michigan and it is the state standardized test. I usually do okay. I got ALL A'S this semester. I Always get good grades with mostly A's and some b's. I was so happy yesterday!!! At lunch i got a certificate and this gift card for getting all a's.In 4th hour my teacher told us we did really good on the meap AND that some of us kicked it butt! I was really happy… i was hoping i was one of the ones who kicked its butt. That high from 4th hour and lunch kept me going til the pep assembly. I am usually quiet in school, but i was so happy that i even got in on all the yelling. When it was time to call names for who did good and who significantly improved in reading and or math I was like so giddy. The thing is some people got kindle fires for being the best in the grade. Okay i didn't win one… no big deal. I am usually get advanced on reading on my meap test..but im just like okay no big deal someone did better than you. That wasn't it though.It was time to give certificates for significantly improving. I did really horrible in math i got below proficient. I was really sad last year when i got my scores, but i told myself last year i will do better. I didn't get a certificates :( So the thing is i DIDN'T significantly improve in math and that means i did really horrible. I didn't even get my meap scores, but when i took the test for the math one i was really worried and didn't feel like i learned what they was asking me. Lately i have been feeling dumb in math and everything. That is why i was so happy when i got my report card. I am really sad and depressed and all i wanted to do was cry. I was sad thru the shaving of my principal head (it was a bet that if the 8th grade can beat last year scores (which were record high in recent year) we could shave his head. We beat it !!! ). I was sad thru 30 mins of dancing and everything. I was sad when i came home. I was sad on my WAY home. I am still sad today. School is all i have. I'm not the prettiest and not the talented. I barely have any friends-but that is another story for another day. I'm still really bum about this. I feel REALLY stupid. Christmas is like 4 days away and i not feeling very merry.

Internet Connection Problems?

I have a computer which is connected to my wireless internet router box, (this is the computer i'm currently using as of now), and i also have several other devices which connect to the internet wirelessly: 2 laptops, iPod touches, and a kindle fire, The devices i have just names will not connect to my router, The internet works fine on the computer which the internet is connected to but nothing else will work.
