My brand new kindle fire wont charge?

I just got a brand new kindle fire, it was charging fine on my computer a day ago. Now the screen lights up when I plug it in to the USB port on my computer but it will not charge it? It has never been dropped, never gotten wet, has not recieved ANY kind of damage. I even bought a new chord for it and it wont work. Ive tried putting it into sleep mode and even turning it off but nothing. However it will charge when plugged into my cigarette lighter in my car. What could the problem be?

I was wondering what your opinion was on android's survival now that Windows Phone 8 is coming along with RT and Windows 8 Pro. I know that Android currently holds 75% of the smartphone market, but that is likely because Windows Phone has not yet had great influence and many of those users were Blackberry converts or Apple haters. But now that BB10 and WP8 are coming and is supposedly very smooth and easy to use, why would anyone want the fragmented Android OS? Also, now that Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro are coming to tablets, whats the point of Android tablets? They aren't easy to use, they are fragmented and sluggish, so do you think many people will go for Windows 8 and BB10 and Android will just become another basis for an OS- similar to what Amazon did with it's Kindle Fire? That's what I think, how about you?

Why isn't my Kindle Fire working?

Today I was on my Kindle Fire, and I had been on it for probably fifteen minutes, give or take. I got it last Christmas and it's never done anything wrong and always performed well and was fast. Even yesterday I was reading on it all day. But today I was online, and I had just closed my Facebook tab and was about to get on Twitter, when the touch screen stopped working. The screen got darker like it normally does before it turns off, even though I was tapping it repeatedly, then it turned off. I pressed the 'Turn-On' button, and it was green for like five seconds before it turned off, and the screen hasn't turned on since. I charged it with two different chargers, even though it should be fully charged since yesterday morning it was on it's charger. The 'Turn-On' button is green like it's fully charged, but it still won't turn on. What's wrong? How do I fix said problem? Thanks xX

Any good physical textbook alternatives for college? Maybe a Kindle?

I'm going to be a commuter student taking an hour long trip on the subway. A significant portion of the ride is done standing up, crammed, tensing up my calves at each of the 18 stops to avoid swaying and falling.
Carrying textbooks in addition the whole time does not sound good to me.
Do you think I should get a kindle? I know I won't be able to find all of my textbooks but I feel it would be totally worth a backpack even just a couple of pounds lighter.
Do you have any other suggestions? (I do have a laptop; don't know if I would take it to college yet..) And if I should get something like a kindle, exactly what should I get? (e.g kindle fire, some nook device, a galaxy tab(?) )

How to convert mp3 to.aa or.aax?

I am getting a kindle for Christmas and I have many audiobooks in mp3 file form and I would love to put them on the kindle and not have to buy all the books I already have.As far as I know you can only put.aa and.aax files on kindles I would love to either 1) know if mp3 files can be put on kindles or if 1 is not possible then 2) know where I can find a converter that will convert mp3 to.aa or.aax. I have found a bunch of converters that will convert.aa and.aax to mp3 but not the other way around.

I take for granted my home wifi connection but I wanted to get my mom the kindle fire for Christmas. Mainly so she can Skype and do emails without needing to know how to operate a computer or laptop. Since she does not have either of those would she be able to use the kindle? I asked the other day which tablet I should get for my wife for Christmas. I got a couple of really good answers, and it's been narrowed down to (as mentioned) the Kindle Fire HD and the Google Nexus 7.
My wife needs a tablet that can be used for writing documents for her job. Fast note taking, if you will.
But she also wants it to be great for the following: reading books, surfing the web(Facebook), Netflix, messaging, movies, music, a great processor, good wifi, and easy to use.
Again, I've narrowed it down to these two but in the end, I need it to meet all these(especially the document taking).
I need good opinions from those who've used both. Which would you prefer? Thanks for your help.

How dangerous is it too use colored print magazine paper for kindling for a fire when out doors? i know that if it's inside and there's no ventilation it can hurt you but if you're outside in the open air is the risk reduced significantly to the point that it's fairly safe?

My Kindle Fire won't connect to my computer?

I'm trying to put some pdf files on my Kindle Fire for a friend, and I've never did it like this before. I usually send it through the email address, but it's a lot of files and it's going slow.So, I have a MicroUSB cable and I connected it to my computer and Kindle. But nothing shows up. I looked through my computer and everything but I don't see anything. When I unplug it and try to plug it back in all it says is Low Battery, only 7% remaining.Is it because my battery is so low? I've tried everything to delete books that have been on Cloud of my kindle fire: I removed it from my carousal and device, deregistered from my account, reset my kindle, and deleted it from the amazon website (the titles are no longer present, but they remain on cloud on my kindle). Relationship trouble - confused - help!

So, i have been with my girlfriend for 4 years, we met when we were at college, and we have 1 little boy, and another baby on the way.we got our own place together when our first child was born, but she got post natal depression, and it truly did strain our relationship, during this time, i was also on medication, which is known to mess with your brain whilst taking it (champix), and due to the fact we could not get along and i did not feel it was fair for my son see us at eachother throats 24/7 i moved out of the family home and back to my mums, to give us some space from each other, we agreed that it was not the end of our relationship, and we would have little date nights (trying to re-kindle the romance) i still saw my son during this time, and had him every weekend whilst i was away from the home.my partner (unbeknownst to me) had stopped taking her anti depressant for PSD and she would spend her weekends drinking with her friends in the family home (son would be with me at my mums), then one weekend when dropping off my son i noticed that she was being very evasive when i asked her how her weekend was, and i had a gut feeling something was not right, she eventually told me she had gone to a pub looking for one of her friends, but ended up talking to one of my so- called friends, and they had ended up sleeping with eachother (in my bed at the family home), after thinking hard about what i wanted to do after this, i eventually came to the decision to move back to the family home, (i was abandoned by my father at 2 years old and i want my children to have their parents around), but because of what she had done, i was (and still do) find it extremely hard to be 100% commited to the relationship and also i did not feel the same way i once did, this happened last august.just over a year on, not much has changed, i still feel disgusted of what she did, and also i do not think i have forgiven her for it, we still argue, but not as much, and we also are not very sexually active, any sex is always suggested by me, and even then she seems reluctant, also we do not talk much, and she is constantly saying that i am criticizing her, and always telling me she wants more affection from me. i find myself constantly thinking about what my life would be like if i would have not moved back into the relationship, and i seem to be constantly eyeing up other women ( i never used to do this). I want more than anything to be able to be a family, but i just feel like i'm living a lie at the moment. Please can somebody give me some advice?

Also forgot to add, i have heard stories from people who are now not friends with her that she has done stuff like this before (cheating that is),

IPad or Kindle 4 for PDF Readings? -college student?

I'm a college freshman and have to do a lot of E-Readings (of PDF's published online by profs) in addition to reading from a textbook. I hate printing them because I've already spend almost $100 on ink in the first semester, and reading 40 page documents on a computer hurts my eyes and gives me headaches. I also don't like bringing my comp to class, since it's usually not allowed and is heavy.

I'm going to ask for either a Basic Kindle or an iPad for Christmas so I can more easily read and transport these PDF readings. Any suggestions on which is better? I know the Kindle is considerably less pricey, so I was leaning that way. Which is better for highlighting PDF's? The only plus to the iPad is that I could also use it to take notes. If students especially could weigh in I'd appreciate it!

I'm from Australia and wanted to buy a Kindle. I jumped onto Amazon and looked at all the different verisons of the Kindle. Finally settled on the Kindle Paperwhite, added to cart and checked out. Got an error message as they don't send the Kindle to Australia and I had to visit the Australian Kindle page where the only available Kindle is the old and outdated original kindle.To make matters worse, it cost $89 AUD (without postage) for the Kindle but the exact same verison is only $69 in the US. Considering the Australian dollar is stronger, the Kindle should be cheaper in AUD and not $20 more.

Long story short, I'm boycotting Kindle and Amazon and want to know the alternatives.

Which 7 Coby Kyros tablet to get?

I currently only own a PC. Never owned a smartphone, don't have a laptop, don't have a tablet. I want a cheap tablet that will be PRIMARILY for my almost 3 year old to play educational games on, and maybe also for me to check email or very light web browsing.

I was thinking of a Kindle Fire, but the Coby Kyros is 1/2 that cost, and sounds comparable in features and apps.So… which one to get? I have learned that it is very important to get capacitive, but there are still several models to choose from, and I'm worried I'll screw up and get the wrong one. Looking at these ones right now. The second one is $16 more… why is it $16 more? Does it have something really important that the others don't? The only difference I see is Android 2.3 instead of 4.0. Wouldn't 2.3 be worse than 4.0? And the product number is lower (7022 versus 7035) wouldn't that mean it is an older model, and if so, why does it cost more? Is the third one better because it is a 7036 and the top one 7035? They are the same price. The top one has 8gb serial ATA, the 3rd one only 4gb serial ATA. I don't know what that is, but I probably want more of it right?

I had a lucid dream last night and?

Okay so this is the first lucid dream ive had since i actually researched lucid dreaming. The first one I had happened over 2 years ago, I was at a family dinner and my dead uncle and my dead grandparents were there so I realized it was a dream and I punched my brother in the face because that's something I've always wanted to do.

Last night I actually fell asleep while reading a kindle book on my iPod. The book was really boring but I have to read it for school. I could feel myself falling asleep and when I tried to open my eyes I couldn't wake up and random animals kept appearing.So I closed my eyes and I found myself in a room with a static TV that was the only light source. I could only explore though, I couldnt fly or hang out with celebrities or anything like that. The setting was terrifying and I tried to wake up but I couldn't, I just kept dreaming about myself in my bed with monsters and demons all over my room. I couldn't control ANYTHING :( so my question is how can I control my lucid dreams?

I am a avid reader. I have the kindle ereader by amazon. I read up to 5 books a month… possibly more.

The thing is, after I read a book I never read it again. I know library's offer ebook programs. But my local library doesn't have any of the books or authors that I read which are urban african american authors.

Every kindle book I've ever read has had an enormous amount of typos. I'm currently reading one that has around two typos per page. I know that it's caused by the software used to convert images to text, but why are there no editors given the task to ensure books are error-free? They are not cheap, yet I don't see this problem making any headlines.It should be, why isn't it? If you bought a CD album and it skipped twice in every track, it would be an outrage.

IPod 5, iPad Mini, or Kindle Fire HD?

I've been saving up for a month or two now, (I'm like 15), and I've decided to buy one of the above.iPad Minis are surprosingly close to the iPod 5s in price, but the Kindle Fire HD is very well priced, and seems like a good bang for my buck. I like Apple products though, due to the large amount of easily installed apps. I'd like to get something a bit bigger than the iPod 5 though, so a tablet like the Mini or Fire HD come to mind. Why does this always happen to me?

My 2 sisters NEVER get grounded… They are probably 5 times worse than me. Last week, my sister turned 9. She got a 3ds.
