What is better for kids, the Kindle Fire HD or the regular Kindle Fire?

I'm looking to purchase a Kindle Fire for my kids (ages 6 & 7). I want it for reading, educational games, and occasional movie viewing (reward time & vacations). I love the parental controls that limit functionality, but now I'm stuck on if I should purchase the Fire HD ($199 - 16GB w/ HD + forward facing camera) or the non-HD ($130 - 8GB). I honestly already think the non-HD is a good enough deal, but the consumer in me thinks MORE, MORE, MORE! Heck they are just kids, what happen to a freaking barbie for Christmas (lol). HELP!

Is it fixable or do i have to bring it back?

When I turn the screen on my kindle fire on its side, the screen itself won't adjust to it and will only show the content as if i was holding it upright.is there something i can do myself to fix this or will i have to bring it back to amazon to have it fixed?

What router would be good for my home?

Kindle Keyboard screen won't turn on?

So, I've had my kindle for about 2 years now and love it. This morning while I was in bed I reached over and grabbed it, but it slipped from my fingers and the corner of the kindle bumped into the desk before falling on the carpet floor. I really didn't think I had reason to worry, as it couldn't have fallen more than 2 inches before it hit the desk. But though there's not so much as a scratch where the corner hit, the screen will no longer turn on and has these lines across it. The power switch works just fine.

I'm sure I'll have to contact amazon about it, but I was hoping someone on here with experience with the issue could give me a heads up on what to expect?

Recently I have been purchasing textbooks (expensive as always) and I end up never using them in the class. Needless to say I'm fed up with spending 600 on books when I only use 200 worth of books each semester.So I'm investigating into this whole ebook thing. They are WAY cheaper and considering the cost of a Kindle, I'd earn my money back twice or three times over in just one semester. I was curious if anyone has every used one before for eTextbooks. Was it easy to use? Navigate? Read? Did your professor mind having electronics in the class? Etc etc any bit of info would be great!

What's so special about the kindle fire?

Would somebody who didn't like the old kindle like it? I know there is light. I know there are free classic books… But are other novels really pricey? And what about the movie prices? Are there free movies/shows?

You see I am the type that enjoys reading from a book… I never liked the old kindle. There was no light and using one of those attached lights was annoying. But Also the buttons were kind of annoying lol.

My dad told me that it you pay $100 something you get like 100 novels for a year… But what happens after that year? Do the books disappear?

I can't forgive or forget my mistakes?

I can't seem to let things go, particularly things I do wrong. Some are big, For example, about 9 years ago when I was 13, I threw glitter at a girls face. She got sent to hospital. I think about it all the time, and can't use or be around glitter because of that, I just feel guilty and sad.

Also as a child, about 7 years old, I once chewed up a pen which my mother was bought by a child she looked after. I had no idea the pen was anything special but still feel really bad.

Those are large examples, but here is a TINY one that is driving me CRAZY.
I went out with two friends about a month ago, and we were in Waterstones (a book store) I was looking at a Kindle on a stand. I didn't realise my other friend was behind me looking at a notebook. The OTHER friend turned in my direction and said "Are you thinking of buying one?" I replied, "No I quite like books as they are." She just giggled a bit awkwardly, then I realised she was actually talking to the friend behind me.

I can literally think of nothing else from that time we met up. I haven't seen them since because I feel really stupid and don't think I can face them… and I know that is a tiny thing, but it is driving me MAD.

How can I let this stuff go? It plays on my mind on repeat, I'm fine during the day, but at night when I'm in bed it's all I can think about.My mistakes, big and small.

Please don't tell me to look to God lol I would rather not bother him/her/it.

Why would smoke fill my house during wood stove fire?

During an evening fire in my wood stove, after it had been burning about an hour, my house all of a sudden filled with stinky smoke (chemical smelling, fire department thought maybe the paint on pipes or enamel on stove).My smoke alarm went off, I called the fire department and got out. The fire department suggested that I needed to get my chimney swept, but I had less than two months previously. They also suggested the chimney may be blocked. Well, they put out the roaring fire, and fanned the smoke out of the house. I've just now, two days later, gotten my chimney cleaned and looked at.No build-up of creosote and no blockage. They could find nothing wrong. Anyone have any ideas? The chimney sweep was less than impressed with our pipes from stove to chimney having elbow bends in them (but that may be because it was hard to clean!). We've used the stove over a year and a half, including the day before this incident, with no issues. I'd rather have some idea of what happened before I have another fire. I was burning some paper and kindling to start, and had a couple of small pieces of hardwood starting to go.

I have read the Hush Hush series, the Fallen series, the twilight series all of which I enjoyed, maybe found them a little too teenager focused for me. I also read fifty shades of grey series which I have to say I found absolutely rubbish. Books vs comics for brain training?

I've been dyslexic all my life and I've always had trouble with reading and memory recall

What my question is. Would books or comics be better for improving my general brain power.

The factors I have to put in is.

I love comic books, I have read them all the time in the past.

I love audio books because of the description they can give.

I already have an iPad for reading comics and its great. But not so great for reading books.

I'm thinking about buying a kindle if I choose books to mainly read

Do u think I should give up reading comics and move on to books

Or do u think that reading comics is enough and I should just keep on that road.

Any other advice would be helpful on memory training.

P.s.dont say use brain training games or anything like that because I've read that it's totally bogus

So my partner is waiting for me to decide what i want for christmas i am stuck between an e-reader or a tablet. The e-reader is nice and simple can read books on it easily, its light and the battery last ages ive decided that if i want just an e-reader then i would like a kobo glo. But i dont like how slow they are to react. I hate the one use to it and i hate the lack of colour because at some point i would like to read the news or magazines on it maybe. Then there is the tablet, i have looked at many the small samsung galaxy one, the blackberry playbook, the kindle fire, but the Kobo Arc has stood out to me the most as they are an e-reader company so will be based more around the reading part of it than anything else. I would have gone straight for a tablet if it wasnt for the fact that we already have a computer, a laptop and i have a samung galaxy note phone (large touch screen phone).So any tablet i am going to get on my budget wont be much bigger. He has offered to buy me an ipad but i dont think they are worth it for the money and the fact you are completely stuck with apple when your with it. Should i just give up and not waste money and read normal books? Can still get them pretty cheap from supermarkets and i work part time in a book store. I need a case for my Kindle Fire HD 7inch. I need to carry it around in class, so I'd like it to be an automatic sleep mode one. Ideas for a way to retrieve lost property from Portugal?

My Sis left her kindle on a Ryanair plane; it was handed in but only after the plane returned to Portugal.So we are in the UK and the kindle is with lost property (or someone) in Faro, Portugal.

Has anyone had any experience on how to retrieve it, or any suggestions. I believe my Sis has contacted lost property at East Midlands Airport (who were VERY helpful), and who have tracked it down, but they say it may get sent back to Stanstead (??) and if so they doubt that Stanstead will post it back to us. They may expect us to pick it up?

Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated, the Kindle was a gift from her son and is special to her.

Not trying to spark some big fight here but, if you're one who believes in this sort of thing, how would YOU go about a werewolf transformation? I had a rather awkward obsession with the idea in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, and it just always fascinated me somehow, but i couldn't quite say the same for everyone else in my grade… they weren't into what i was… They hated me ._.
