Changing the date and time on Kindle Fire- without the automatic button?
I have a newer version of the Kindle Fire 7" so there is no automatic button in the settings.Is there a way to change the date and time without the automatic button?

Will using a different charger affect battery life and the battery itself?
My phone (Lumia 800) wasnt charging to 100%.it always charged to 80% or 90%.
The problem was the amperage wasnt very high coming from the nokia charger
I had factory reset the phone, and i used the charger from the "kindle fire"
they are both micro usb chargers
Kindle fire charger: Output- 5V
Amperage- 1.8amps
Nokia Lumia 800 charger: Output- 5V
Amperage - 1.3amps
My only worry is, that if i use a charger with a different amperage, Will it ruin my Battery and battery life

I have been using my visa debit card and it's worked fine on other websites and even on Amazon, but it keeps giving this message:

I was really excited when I found out that temple run 2 was now available on my kindle fire.So I did the one click thing on Amazon.com.then it said to go to the Amazon app store to download and install my app.So when I got to the Amazon app store and tried to install it, it said "you already have this app. Please look in your app library." So on my kindle fire I like to watch youtube videos and listen to music. Today as I was about to listen to some music I noticed that no sound was coming out.So I think that the sound is off. I turn it all the way up and play the music. Once again, no sound comes out.So then I plug in my headphones and I can hear the sound through my headphones. This happened to my brothers kindle fire, and like two or three of my friends. What is wrong with them? Should I contact Kindle Customer Support? If so, what is their email?

I dropped my Kindle in the toilet?
I have a Kindle Touch and I had it in my jacket pocket, and I didn't know that it was in there so I dropped it in the toilet as I leaned down.
I took it out right away less than a second, and wiped off water that was on the kindle.
I took the cover out from my Kindle and wiped everything with a towel. (Thankfully my toilet was recently.cleaned and didn't have anything in it except tissue)

I will be finishing up my first novel before this summer comes. I know that self publishing an eBook is the most efficient way for a brand new author, but I want to know what venue is best to use? Kindle fire not visible on mac when connecting it?
I just got my new kindle fire and wanted to transfer some files to it.but when i try to connect it to my laptop, it's not visible anywhere.they said it should be visible at the desktop the moment you connect it.i think i've tried everything from "the kindle should be at homescreen when connected", "restarting your mac", "rebooting your kindle", etc.

What happened to my FB app?
When I try to open the Facebook app on my Kindle Fire HD, it exits the app and takes me to the web page. Why? I've had it for a month and it just started doing this.

I downloaded Calibre but there is no button for 'send to device'. I have a Kindle Fire and I can't seem to transfer the converted files.
I right click on the file and press 'send to' but the 'send to device is not highlighted'.
1) How to I get the Calibre to recognise my Kindle?
2) How do I send files to the kindle after it's recognised?

I downloaded Calibre. But in the set up, I chose 'general'. I have a Kindle Fire so I want the books to convert into its format. I tried reinstalling the programme but that set up option does not come up again. When I convert pdf, it comes up as ebub.

Error message when side-loading apps on Kindle Fire?
I am trying not to root my Kindle Fire (not the first gen or HD, but the regular Fire) that my family bought me for Christmas cause I'd hate to ruin a brand new present. They bought it for me thinking it was Android capable. I'm not complaining about the mixup, but Amazon Apps are terrible, to say the least. Unless you like ponies and little kids games.
Anyway, I found out about side-loading. I tried to do Tiny Tower and Pocket Planes from my Android phone (Google Play) but every time I hit install on my Kindle, it says "application not installed". Kindle fire screen faulty?
I bought my mind fire at the beginning on January I've never dropped it or anything like that. But my screen has messed up? Sometimes it can be absolutely fine then next it's like it's been touched in multiple areas so it won't know where I'm trying to touch?

Why won't my tumblr reblog button work on kindle fire anymore?
I have a kindle fire and have been using it for tumblr a lot because I can not use the computer too often. I never really had a problem with this other than it only loads one page of posts. Today however I cannot reblog anything. The symbol is there but it wont reblog when I tap it.It will only reblog if I switch to mobile format and I really REALLY hate mobile format. I do not use the app but just go thru the web and I don't use tumble savior or those other things. Does anyone know how to fix it? Can I get a a new kindle if its more than two years old?
Im not sure what kind of kindle it is exactly, but its a white one with the ink display.It was one of the first amazon kindles made. The screen is messed up pretty badly.It was given as a gift, so I'm not sure of the warranty and really dont want the person to know I broke it.Is it possible to get a replacement from amazon, for free? Ive read a few things where the kindle was replaced free of charge. Timeframe however, im not sure of. Also, is it possible to fix the problem myself. GIFT IDEAS for rich people?
I need a gift for my mother in law! She has everything in the world, she needs absolutely nothing. She hates things that aren't practical. She doesn't have many hobbies because she works a lot. She has a house cleaner and stuff, so I can't really help with that. I feel bad buying her jewlery because all of her stuff is gold and I really can't afford that. She doesn't really like jewlery anyway, just the bit she has. She honestly doesn't like much. I'd offer her my time to help her with whatever, but I don't have the time either. She goes to the spas and stuff with her friends. I doubt I could even afford something like that. Recommend a book: READ DESCRIPTION!
I love almost all types of books. Shapeshifters, vampires, witches, or just humans. I like books to have romance, but not over cheesiness. DON'T recommend Twilight. I like darker plots. Something like The Secret Circle, House of Night, or Pride's Run. You don't have to give me a summary of the book because I always look up reviews and ratings before purchasing it on my Kindle. So I know i have it but this is my question really. I am a girl and I've had it since i was 6 have i developed more disabilities? I charge my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch all night long.from 10-8.when i wake up in the morning the battery is only at 68%! and the battery is like, gone in an hour! i called customer sevice and they literally gave me no help but the fact that they want to send me a new one.could someone help me figure out why this is happening so i dont have to get a new one? thanks:)

Issues with the browser on the original kindle fire?
When I reopen he browser on my kindle fire pages that I looked at a long time ago will pop up. I have tried clearing my browsers history and deleting cookies but the ebay search I did will still appear.It was not open when I closed the browser but it is there when I open it. If anyone knows how to stop this from hapening I would greatly appreciate it.

If I've written a book, can I upload the book to multiple e-publishing/selling sites without the companies blaming me? For example, I write a thriller and upload it to Kindle. But then I also upload it to a Chinese site, and maybe amazon.So there are now three ways people could find and buy my book. Anybody going to come after me for that? Do these companies claim exclusivity or are these arrangements non-exclusive? I am pretty sure they're non-exclusive but the agreement terms texts are so dense; I haven't found anything yet though but maybe I missed something.

What is wrong with my kindle fire hd 7?
When I am skype with my web cam on I get flash of light on my feed like some one is turning a light off and on.It is only like under 7 days old but I think the cold has something to do with how it is working. The life is at 75% to 50% when it starts. I want to no if other peoples douse what my is doing so I can find out if I should send it back and get a new one.

I just got my kindle fire HD In the mail it was fine for a while until it wouldn't turn on I haven't had it for more than a month and I tried everything that Everyone said but they didn't work I've had it on the charger for now 2 days without sign of getting better once or twice it would have the start up screen then die again

B&A Writers: How can I stop being sad about making sacrifices for my dreams?
For fun, I browse the internet (learning really interesting stuff on blogs, etc) and watch youtube videos and read books on my Kindle and play multiplayer online games. Every few weeks I go hang out with my friends from before I finished school. I really, REALLY enjoy my free time -- so much that sometimes it's a struggle to write.
I love the pre-writing stuff (daydreaming up worlds/plots/characters and scrawling notes -- I'll never stop) but sitting down and putting it on paper is TOUGH, especially when I could be doing so many other fun things.It just takes so much time. But if I don't do it nobody will see my stories and I won't ever reach my dream of making a living as a fantasy author.
I know people say writing seriously is "work" but then I look at people like Amanda Hocking, Meg Cabot and Michelle Read and I can just tell they love it (maybe not ALL of it but MOST of it). I want to love it too, but I don't want to be upset about not doing all the other things I find fun when I'm doing the writing bit.It ruins the fun, and makes it… not as fulfilling as it could be.
It's not like I have to completely give up my entertainment, but I'll have to do a lot less time wasting, and I'll miss it. I'm not sure why I feel like I'm going to miss doing whatever I feel like so much.

Unless it is plugged into the charger but it doesn't say it is charging and when I cut it on it will say 50% battery then ill restart it and it will say 0% battery and it just goes back and forth doing that the battery symbol in the top right corner will also just disappear and I tryed a different charger and it still did it and I also did a factory reset but that didn't help either I have seen people say online that there different kind of kindle has done this and there were ways to fix it but i don't know how to do this…

Could I run into copyright issues for my novel?
I'm an aspiring author, and I've written a novel and completed it. I'm going to be putting it on the Kindle store soon.
However… it's a Rapunzel parody, called Locked In.
I've gone to great lengths to make sure it doesn't appear like Disney's retelling, I've made Rapunzel have auburn hair, but her personality is quite like Disney's Rapunzel. She doesn't have magic hair, but she does posses magic-as it is discovered in the ending-but it isn't hair magic. Her parents aren't Royalty, and her saviour isn't an outlaw.and Gothel actually has more daughters in similar situations as hers. Also, Rapunzel meets her real family and it ends darkly.
My question is, if I change elements of Rapunzel, would there be a copyright issue? As you can see, I've changed it so it is neither like the Disney version or the Brother Grimm's.
So, would this still be public domain work, and would I run into copyright issues?

Hi, I've read countless instructions on how to get Adobe Flashplayer on Kindle Fire but they don't add up. I've clicked on the half box with three lines, clicked on settings from there, and all there is 'Enable JavaScript' there is no 'Enable Flashplayer.'

The cashier forgot to activate my amazon card?
I recently bought a kindle fire HD 7. I bought it at gamestop because i heard that the best price was there as well as you get a $25 amazon card as an added bonus. Well the cashier that checked me out when I bought my kindle seemed like one of those people who was less than excited to be alive much less at work.
So I get my kindle out I am excited to buy some books with my card and try it out. Then I go to redeem my card and it says that 'we had a problem redeeming your card' and I re-type the code again and again. Still it won't go through. I realize that the cashier at gamestop didn't scan the card or anything.
SOOOOOOO… to the point I don't have the reciept from the purchase ( I know, I know that was stupid of me to throw it away but the tablet was working fine and I didn't really think about keeping it.)
Is there anyway I can get my card activated??? PLEASE??? Someone help me???

I just got a kindle fire hd for Christmas and the camera has worked fine up until now.for every camera app I use it says "cannot connect to camera" does anyone know how to fix this and why it's doing this? please help!

My kindle battery has exclamation mark?
I've left my kindle on charge for the last 36 hours and I've just taken it off the mains adapter.
However, the battery symbol on the top right-hand corner has an exclamation mark (!).
Obviously, I am surprised because I've never seen this before.
What does it mean?
Does it indicate that the battery is fully charged, or the battery is virtually flat despite the fact I left it on charge for the last 36 hours?

Why have book prices gone so high all of a sudden?
Books were like 0.01p with £2.80 delivery. Most of the time a single book wouldn't exceed £3-4.
Now books are reaching £10 (used) and I'm reluctant asking my dad to buy me books now. Now I'm trying to find ebooks to put on Kindle but most the time can't find the book I want.

Can someone tell me whether the 3g on paperwhite and keyboard respectively both allow you to check mail, google maps etc.for free anywhere in the world, or whether it's just limited to the amazon store? I don't care greatly about web speed; in fact, I don't really want 3g on an e-reader as internet really distracts me - but I like traveling and going on cycling trips etc.so the ability to check mail or consult maps anywhere in the world would be invaluable in frequent instances of emergency/inconvenience.

My daughter got ssi we took her to get clothing for her she had some but she needed some clothing that did not button due to her not knowing how and her teacher not helping her they let her under wear hang out all day.she got a kindle for her music and games due to her using a ipad at school.she bought living room set due to the other one being in real bad shape. I have all her receipts for everything. She also has paid her 1/5th of bills she get's 710 and her part of the bills are $147.00. I have a good paying job and my husband works as well we can pay the bills but it gets some of her money down.can you buy gift cards for like old navy or amazon for her kindle and if you can will it count on her $2000.we have her money down to $450 and she will get $710 on the 1st but she will be below her $2000 but My daughter will only play with toys with music she really can't talk much.she wont sit and watch only 2 different movies.she has to pay for no medical stuff.any ideas what to do? WiFi with Verizon Mobile Broadband?
I have a Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband thingy, and I want to get WiFi so I can use the internet on my iPod, Kindle, etc.Is there a way to get WiFi out of this, or should I just wait until my contract is up and buy something with a cable that I can plug into a router?

Rooted Kindle Fire HD 7 or Nexus 7?
Is there a whole lot of difference between a nexus 7 and a rooted kindle fire hd? I played with both a bit at best buy and the movie on the fire hd looked better to me. Performance seemed the same on both. I'm mostly concerned about the sound quality and the wifi connection.
I've read a lot of reviews saying the nexus is much better than the kindle fire hd, but I've also read reviews that said the speakers on the nexus are terrible when compared with the kindle fire and the wifi on the nexus cuts out a lot. The kindle fire hd does have the dual antenna. The nexus I tried out in the store sounded pretty good. Not as good as the kindle, but I'd be happy with it. That was a store model though, so I don't know how the one I buy would sound. I've read some people's reviews saying that the sound on their nexus is just fine and that aaall the other people who say otherwise have defective units.
I've rooted a couple tablets before for friends (not kindle or nexus so haven't been able to play with either any more) and I would just root a kindle fire and replace it with pure android, but it would be nice not having to with the nexus.
I can't really think of a reason I would use GPS on the nexus or want to hook up my kindle to my TV. I can do without both, so neither feature has been weighed into my decision making process here.
I'll just be using the tablet while I'm at school and possibly to watch TV in bed.It's a hassle to lug my heavy laptop and cord around school for 12 hours at a time even if it's only 3 days a week. Makes my back and shoulder hurt carrying it around campus. I want to use it to take notes during class - a girl in one of my math classes has no trouble taking notes on her ipad mini so I'm not worried about screen size- and I'll want to use it to surf the web for homework as well as watch movies and tv during free time.
Would the nexus sound just as good as the kindle if I used headphones? My bluetooth headphones sound great so I could just use those and be fine right? I need to copy apps from a first gen iTouch to a 2nd gen?
I lost my apps in my 2nd gen iTouch. I am borrowing my sister's 1st gen. I would like to copy some apps that we both have "purchased", like Kindle, that I can no longer download because Apple is not supporting my product and is not keeping the old apps available… rotten decision… Anyways, I'd like to still read my books.
So does anyone know of a way, either using iTunes or another app, that can do this? I'm pretty tech savy, I just am not sure where to look for a solution.

Why won't any apps download on to my kindle fire?

Kindle Paperwhite and SD cards, how to transfer files?
I am looking for a way to transfer ebooks between a Kindle Paperwhite and an SD card, using USB cables and a minimum of other hardware.My library is expected to run to about 4000 books, and I want them all local. The linking hardware must be powered by rechargeable batteries, but it should be less power-hungry than a laptop. (I'll buy a laptop to solve this problem, if necessary, but there ought to be a battery-operated device that will do these transfers with a lower power requirement.) The best solution would be for Amazon to create and sell its own brand of expanded storage media for the Kindle Paperwhite. I'd buy one. I don't want to jailbreak my Kindle, but I will if I have to, in order to get the ability to increase the storage with SD cards.

Archieved books on kindle help?
I downloaded boks from kindle… i didnt want them so i deleted tbem from the site since they were archieved. Manage kindle books. They are deleted on my bookl list online but they still keep showing up on the kindle device as being archieved. Any ideas on how to get rid of them … there is no delete item from device .

Why won't my Belkin router connect to the Internet?
I just got a new Belkin router a month ago and it was working just fine (after I had to re-install the software) until it magically disconnected from the Internet somehow. After what seemed like 30-60 minutes with tech support and an endless array of unplugging and replugging of my router, computer, and modem, I was told that nothing was wrong with my modem or my router and that my desktop was at fault and didn't explain to me how or why.
Now my Dell Dimension is 7 years old. I still have WinXP (the lady at Belkin tech support said it wasn't an issue).So how do I get my Belkin router to connect to the Internet on my computer? My mom has a Kindle Fire and she needs the WiFi to download books.
Everything was working perfectly fine late in the afternoon until my router lost all connectivity with the Internet. What should I do? Dell tech support will cost me if I try to call them since my computer is out of warranty (and I'm too poor to get a new computer at this point).
Please no sarcastic comments or scams. I just want honest answers (even if the truth hurts).

I am a sophomore on college right now and I met a girl in the middle of October. We hooked up that night and began talking a lot after that.So for about two months we were texting a lot and hanging out and hooked up a few times.In around the beginning/middle of December we hung out and I slept in her dorm and stuff like that. After that i noticed she began to start acting sort of distant and stuff like that for about a week so I texted her about it right before we left for break. She told me that she gets kinda weird when things start to get serious and she noticed that we were talking a lot and that she just got out of a relationship before she came back to school and wasn't looking to jump right back into one, but she then said that she didn't want to end things with me because I was a great guy and she just wanted to take things sort of slow. I said that sounds good to me and decided to give her space and didnt text her for about a week. I texted her christmas eve to wish her a merry christmas and check up on her and she was responding kinda weirdly. She woudl text back, but it would take her a long time but she still seemed interested in the conversation. The last text that night was her asking me how my christmas was going and I responded by telling her what I have been up to and she never responded. I thought it was kinda weird, but I didnt say anything. A week later on New Years I texted her wishing her a Happy New Year and everything and she responded back to the first couple texts cheerfully then I sent her a text and she never responded back to it. We have not talked since new years because she told me when we started talking in October that she doesnt believe girls should text guys first and she will always feel weird about it. I just dont wanna text her again because it will make me look desperate. What do you think is going on? Our break is really long (Until the end of january) and do you think she just wants her space during break and try to re-kindle when we get back?
