Unlock bootloader/root Kindle Fire HD and tablet suggestions?

For those of you who didn't know, the new Kindle Fire HD just came out in 7-inch and 8.9-inch flavors. I have wanted to get a tablet for a while now, but I have been holding off until I found something that really caught my eye. And that something is the Kindle Fire HD. I previously had my eye on the Nexus 7, but I wasn't sure if I would like the 7-inch screen or not. Then when I saw the Kindle Fire HD with superior specs, in my opinion, and with a 8.9-inch option, I was excited. The only problem I see with the Fire is that it runs a heavily modified version of Android ICS, compared to the Nexus 7 that runs stock Android Jelly Bean. I really want access to the stock features of Android, especially the Google Play Store, so I am wondering if there is any way currently available or in the works to unlock the bootloader so I could install different ROMs and/or root the device to get access to the other features? I know in the coming months there will probably be a few different ways of doing it, but I just want to know if there is currently any known way. Also if anyone has any suggestions for tablets, I would appreciate it. I am looking for a laptop replacement because I have a giant gaming laptop that I can't bring around with me, so I want something that is fairly powerful. I don't know if a 7-inch sized tablet would work for me, but I guess I would have to try one to decide. Thanks in advance!

My mom was on pintrest when my kindle froze. Well I wasn't too worried about that because it does that, I have to let it die, then I recharge it and it works fine. Well, my mom let it die, the next morning she went to put it on charge.It usually takes 15 min., then turns on. She checked it about 30 min.later and it was blank. Its been on charge for hours now and the little power button will glow green but the screen will stay blank. We've tried multiple chargers that fit, but nothing is working! Help please.

I got a kindle fire HD for my birthday. I want to use it for school and I have a website called mymathlab. I can sign in and get to my course but after I click on assignments it says 'file not found'. My kindle fire connected to the internet just fine. Then I got a new router (live in an apt.so the office changed it for some reason) Now it won't connect to the new router/network.It has great signal strength.My other devices (laptop and wii) work just fine with the new router. Why is my kindle saying it's out of space when it's not?

I have a kindle fire and i convert videos to the kindle format and transfer them so i can watch things when i'm not home. Normally i can put at least 5 40 min videos on it at one time. I have 5 gb to use and i never fill it. I tried to transfer videos to it today and it says that the storage is full.So i checked all the folders and there is nothing on the device to fill that space.My only theory is that the kindle did not comprehend that i erased the previous videos. Any suggestions on how to fix my issue.

Book saved as.enc.db how to convert?

I have a book I rented from a company called CafeScribe, they rent out books online in Ebook style for students. I have the kindle Keyboard and I found the file that you can download to read it offline on the computer but it is in.enc.db format, I want to convert it to use on my kindle during classes since I do not have a kindle that supports Adobe flash and no laptop to bring to class, also cellphones arnt allowed regardless of the reason.Is there a way for me to format this file to AZW for Kindle or PDF?
Added (1). Well Joe, if you read my question fully it is not a format that is able to be decoded by Calibre. You looked up how to convert ebooks to azw which I can do, this is a.enc.db file, a data base file which holds a book. Please do not disrespect me when you are obviously unable to fully understand what you are reading.

Reading pdf on my Kindle keyboard?

I'm trying to read a pdf document on my new Kindle Keyboard.It is a school book that has been scanned, so zooming in won't help me. The text doesn't fit the whole page, which is why zooming in four squares doesn't work. I just get half letters and can't get a whole sentence on the screen, so it's just impossible to read. However if I view it in landscape mode the text is a perfect size and fits the screen well. The only problem is that I can only see the top of the page. I can't seem to be able to move down the page like when I zoom in. I can only turn to the next page and see the top of that one.

Is this just how the Kindle works or if not, how can I move down the page in landscape mode?

I am going to be going to college this coming year and was going to get either a Kindle Fire or an iPad for my textbooks since eBooks are a lot cheaper.

I was wondering which has a better selection of textbooks for a college student, either the iBooks or the Kindle. I know that obviously with an iPad I could also get the app for Kindle on there as well and have the both of them on it and that would be the best choice.

My Kindle Fire can't download any apps?

So, I just got it a couple days ago and yesterday I set it up. I was having no trouble downloading anything, and I got maybe around 16 apps. Today, I tried to download a couple other free things. But the download button is no longer available. Just the save for later and report issues button. I went online and someone said go to the app store, tap menu, tap more, and there you can find your saved apps to download. Well, I have a couple problems with that. One, I don't have a "more" to tap. I have a "saved items to tap, but not a "more". Does this mean my kindle isn't a fire? No idea. Two, even when I am in the list of saved apps, I still cannot download them. Same options as before.So what do I do? Kindle frozen on System Diags, cant connect it to my laptop?

How to copy CBR comics to the kindle fire without them losing their color?

I just got the kindle fire, now I know I can use Calibre to convert the CBR's to MOBI so I can transfer them over to my Kindle Fire. The issue with that though is that it doesn't let me keep the colors for some reason. Am I in the wrong or is my partner being unreasonable?

My partner bought me a kindle Touch for my Birthday. Very nice too. However, when I asked him if he still had the receipt just in case something went wrong with it and also where did he buy it. He just lost the rag with me and said some reallt hurtful and abusive things to me. When he told me that he had bought it from Argos I mentioned that if he had got it from Tesco's he would have had quite a few points. He just went balistic saying that it was a birthday present and I had no right to ask such questions. I cannot understand his reaction to my questions. He has spoilt the joy of getting this present which I shall never now use because of his carrying on about it. Was I in to wrong to ask these questions. He has a really volatile temper at the best of times so perhaps I ought to have used a bit more discretion. What do you think?

Added (1). Surely asking questions is all part of a relationship. Perhaps it was insensitive of me mentioning Tesco's but for him to lose his temper over it was unecessary and way over the top.

Reading Kindle books on iPad and Kindle Paperwhite?

Hi all, I currently own an iPad and have recently just purchased a Kindle Paperwhite which would only be delivered 4 to 6 weeks later.

Supposed I would like to purchase a Kindle book on Kindle store now for reading on the iPad, would I be able to download it into my Kindle device when it finally arrives? How many device can I register under a Kindle store account at any one time? Is it possible to download the purchased contents on more than one device simultaneously?

I want to read a book badly, so urgent replies needed! Much appreciated. :)

Hi, why is facebook so hard to stay on, through only using my Wii?

I can only access the internet 2 ways, through my Wii console, or my boyfriend's kindle..(my wireless (WiFi?!) connection is called ''Clear'') does'nt help that I'm still pretty 'technologically illiterate' when it comes to computers, lol! -My other question- how can I 'tag' a picture or phrase I like, & apply it to my facebook wall?

2K Sports has announced that it will be releasing a mobile companion app, Facebook social game, and a full featured mobile version of NBA 2K13 with NBA 2K Everywhere. NBA 2K Everywhere will allow players to experience NBA 2K anywhere and the mobile app and Facebook game send data back to NBA 2K13.

MyNBA2K is the free companion app that will be available in October for iOS, Android, and Kindle devices. I absolutely adore my Kindle. However I find it quite difficult to manage. Having many books onto it not putting them into collections is close to impossible. However it is such a tedious job to put each and every book into its collection. There must be an easier way.Do you know of any?
Added (1). I generally add more books at once (last time I added 100- all belonging to the same collection) so putting them one by one is something I would never do

My rabbit had kits 6 days a go and she still has babys in her belly?

I rescued this rabbit and she was breed 37 days ago and she had her kits on the 1st.a few days a go i notised her belly was moving so i put my hand on her tummy and she still has babys in her. I know dose have two horns so both can be impregnated and could deliver on different days but i can not find anything about when she will kindle the other Kits (babies). most of the wedsights i find say they will be born between 28-32 days after breeding. First time dose can carey them 32-34 day but tomorow the 8th she will be 4 days over that.i dont know if there is somthing wrong or if its ok just unushule i dont want anything to hapeen to her or her babys.she is my baby and all the babys she has had have homes all ready.she is such a good mom.i have heard some bad things about first time moms she is about 2 years old and she is a mimi rex if any one knows abything about breading rabbits pleas help.i will do what ever is best for the mom and babys. I am going to call the vet if she dose not have them by tomorow.i am woryed something could be wrong.maybe a baby is stuck in her i dont see any thing and i found part of the after burth in the coop area so i know she is not in laber anymore. She is eating drinking and going to the bathroom normily.is there something i shoud be doing?

How to get a book from another country?

A book I want has been published already in Australia.It won't be published in the US until next year :(.Is there anyway I can buy it in Australia, like an online bookstore maybe, and have it shipped to me in the US? Or is there a way to get a digital copy, like for the kindle?

Youtube isn't working on my Kindle Fire or IPod. Help?

For the past, I'd say about week, Youtube refuses to work on either my iPod 3G or my Kindle Fire and simply shows an error message or is stuck on a loading movie image. However, other streaming websites work fine on my Kindle and I have no problem streaming youtube via my computer. I was wondering, is this happening to most iPods/Kindle's or is there a way to fix it?

Ipod Touch vs Kindle Fire? - 2

Well, for christmas I'm either gonna get an ipod touch or a kindle fire, however i dunno which 1.So the main differences are the size, the camera and i guess the facetime. The size is better on the fire for the house, but would it fit in my pocket? I wouldn't really use the camera, i could just use my camera or my phone for that. However, what about facetime? Is it worth it, as i see most of my friends at school every day, and i could just go on the computer. Overall, should i get it just for the screen size, or is it not worth it? Also i would use it most in bed, but hopefully going out, if it fits in my pocket: P

Okay so I tried downloading Temple Run and other games and it tells me to sign into my account.So I sign in and it wants my address and a credit card number. The games are free so? I don't get it.My account has my mom's credit card (which I never use unless I ask her). I was wondering if I buy the game which is free, it won't charge or anything.
