Now that I have a job, I'm thinking of getting a new bank account that I don't have to have my dad with me to deposit and withdraw. I know it's the wrong way of going about it, but does anyone know of a bank that gives away iPods or kindles or something like that when you open a new account? Kindle fire factory reset?
My kindle fire has a Question mark over the battery.
Standard fix is to reset to factory defaults as follows:
Cog Wheel | More | Settings | Device | Reset to Factory Defaults
However, when I select "Reset to Factory Defaults "
I get an error message claiming that the battery does not have sufficient charge to perform the reset.
Sort of a catch 22.
Please help.My battery is fully charged, but the device doesn't know it?

Is it possible to connect a keybaord to the kindle fire. Cuz i saw some 7 inch tablet keyboards and figured if i connect a micro usb port to the keyboard that then id be able to connect it to the fire. If not is there any other way to connect a keyboard to a kindle fire?

My kindle fire has a black screen?
So, I was playing on an app (with the volume on) and suddenly the screen froze and a few seconds later it turned black. But I could still hear the game, so it definitely wasn't turned off. The battery was about 1/3 full, so it didn't shut down from lack of power. I tried to shut it off and restart it, but the button didn't do anything. I plugged it in, what else should I do? What caused this?

I want to know if the kindle fire is easy to use?
I am hoping to get an e-reader in the next month or two and have looked at the Kindle Fire that seems to have just about everything on it, what I need to know, is it easy to understand? reason I am asking this is because I am a bit of a technophobe (I am in my late 60's so not brought up in this era of computers and tablets, kindles etc, but trying to get to grips with it).My husband asked me what kind of Kindle I would like and the Kindle Fire looks good but some people have told me not to bother as they are complicated, are they? I don't want to waste money if a simple e-reader would be best and I just really need to know if Kindle fires are worth the money. Thanks in anticipation of some good sensible advice.

This is an excerpt of the last part of the first chapter, "Sinner". The story, Cimmerian River, is a fantasy paranormal novel and I really want it to be good. Please do take a look and please give some comments. Thanks!
It didn't take very long for me to reach Brooklyn Bridge. Though the rains had stopped the dark curves of the greyed clouds continued it deep rumbling, glowering upon the earth.
I glared back at the skies, pulling my jacket tighter around myself.
Amid the throng of people striding steadily across the bridge, I stopped in its middle. I shut my eyes, hands tightening around the rails, before I opened them again as I always did.
The wind of salt and sea lashed my hair back as the East River twisted and swirled its seductive dance beneath my feet. Black cracks drove through the stone, wind-bitten and rough beneath my fingers. Under the failing sunlight, all was grey.
I inhaled deeply, relishing the salty, polluted air.
Brooklyn Bridge was beautiful.It was old, cracked, and salt-stained, but beautiful. I loved the height. With the rippling winds and rolling clouds, it was the closest I could feel to flying. Like with a single step forward, I could fly into an oblivion and never come back.
I walked it constantly with my father, when he was still alive. He would raise a hand, gesture to the distance and say, "You can see everything from here." He was as free as I could ever remember the moment he stepped foot on the bridge, the stress lines on his face replaced instantly with a crinkle-eyed smile that would had me grinning like an idiot alongside him.
"I can see everything," I whispered, then fisted my hand and pounded it against the stone, the stinging pain coupled with a frustrated anger.No, I couldn't see everything. Everything was dark and dull and had the word 'loss' written all over it.
My father died when I was twelve. Logan was dead while I had lived, albeit scarred. I did not think I could watch Cristian Kane walk away, even though he would be back. Maybe I had to, because I was a sinner.
"Kasia!"
I twisted instantly, eyes latching on Cristian as he sprinted towards me.My heart hammered, and it wasn't because he was here. Forced into movement by the sinking feeling of my stomach, I started towards him as he shouted something else that was lost in the feral crash of thunder. Only was I closer that I saw his lips move in a single word:
Run.
Everything was slow. Those who heard Cristian stopped walking, confused. They turned in the direction he had come from, and their eyes opened wide.
It was suddenly cold. Then somebody screamed.
The crowd surged against me as I darted towards Cristian, abandoning all caution. Ear-splitting cries clouded all else. Cables snapped and the bridge dipped dangerously. I slipped downward instinctively, finding balance as people stumbled.
I didn't know why I didn't run. People screamed. They threw others in their wake as they fled whatever was coming. Oddly disconnected from their panic, I shoved forward.
My eyes never left his.As we closed the distance between us, I raised my hand, and he mirrored my movement.
I should have looked away, but I didn't. I should have listened when he shouted for me to run, but I didn't. And the price I had to pay was to watch him stop a few feet away from me, pale blue irises fixed briefly on mine. Then he blinked, and there was nothing left in them.No fear, no sorrow, not even regret.
He took a step forward before his knees gave way beneath him and he fell to the floor, revealing the knife that stabbed his back.
I howled, the desperation exploding with a vengeance.
Around me, something kindled. I was forced to the ground as fire responded to my cry with a roared, and paired with it, the high-pitched keen of strained cables. Something crashed violently to the ground.In an instant, my vision was washed in red.
The colours would have been mesmerizing. A vortex of red, orange, yellow and white that twirled their harsh, resplendent ballet around me. But the flames swallowed everything in their path. They flared, impassioned and irascible. They would burn the world to ashes—starting with Cristian.
Added (1). I lunged forward into the flames, instincts primal and feral. I gripped the hilt of the dagger and tore it from his flesh, and pressed a hand to his chest.
The crimson pool around him reflected the dance of the flames. I felt their heat, but I no longer feared them. Blood flowed steadily, lovers to a call.
At that, something snapped within me. A low melody was building up in the midst of the violence, rising into a violent scream.It grew louder and harsher, until it reached a crescendo, and then—
Silence.
There was nothing left. Cristian didn't move, and with his stillness, the flames had cowered.
Suddenly, I realized: the price of being a sinner wasn't watching Cristian walk away.
It was watching him die while I lived.

Internet cuts out randomly. Tried everything?
My internet is very sketchy. Sometimes it will work all day, sometimes it cuts out 2 or 3 times in an hour. Often putting my computer to sleep and waking it will work.It's NOT my modem, as my kindle, 3ds and phone all work perfectly when the laptop drops the 'net.
I have tried every solution on tech sites that swear up and down they work. Replies are full of praise and thanks. Here are some things I've tried:
Update drivers
Un-check the computers control of the drivers on/off status
Update /everything/ related to the internet
Virus scans galore
Malware removal
Steam un-install (mentions of this solving problems)
Norton un-install (also mentions of this helping)
ipconfig set to search for address
among other things that I can't even remember any more.

How on tax do i have to pay?

How to build a day to day use device?
HI there guys,
So i and my friend have decided to build something.
Something like a device (like an android, kindle etc.). This device will be used as phone and various other tasks for what the tech will arrive in later future. I know this sounds creepy. Just take it as
1) Building a touch screen device for day to day life computings
2) Building its OS
What should be my goals? Requirements? Books? Materials? Capital???
The purpose of this device would be really specific and thus its whole software part will be made from scratch. However Hardware can be and will be (lol we aint engineers) of existing devices.
I agree that this is going to take really long time. I also agree that it is not an easy task to build your own OS for a device that you made yourself. But yea, I wanna do it!
Next thing up, What should be my base for building the OS?
Do i have to look up for Assembly Language or C or What?
Next thing up is the graphics, (yea it is getting really complicated). I have hands on graphics designing and will create the graphics as required. I would just need the working knowledge of implementing those graphics in my OS.
YEA! I KNOW THIS IS CRAZY!

I have an old 3G kindle, the one with the keyboard. Although it gets the internet, I can't listen to Pandora radio because it needs an app installed that I can't install (either it isn't possible or I haven't figured out how to install it).

Windows XP won't recognize Kindle?
Hi, I just got my Kindle Fire 7.4.6 HD, but my computer won't recognize it, nothing.It doesn't show on my computer or through Windows Media Player. I tried installing Windows MTP, that didn't work, I tried installing and reinstalling drivers, and using SDK, and it all didn't work. I need help. I run on Windows XP 32-bit.

Is asking for a Kindle Fire in college okay?
I turn 21 right before Christmas and I can't think of much that I want except a tablet. I've been looking around at different ones and I think the Kindle Fire seems affordable and I would actually use it. I have a lot of lectures that go by power points every class period and they're power hours (1 hour and 15 minutes long) and my computer's battery life is only an hour. I could save paper, and if I forget to print out slides beforehand (which happens pretty often) then I could just pull them up. I have wifi in my sorority house and all over campus, so it wouldn't be hard to get internet access on it.
I'm just starting to get fed up with my current laptop because I have tried to download different programs that I need for school and I keep getting errors. The short battery life is also annoying. I usually have resorted to just using computer labs. I know that a tablet can't replace a laptop, but I plan on buying a new laptop with whatever money I make next summer anyways. Having something more portable would just make things a little easier until then.

I'm just starting to get fed up with my current laptop because I have tried to download different programs that I need for school and I keep getting errors. The short battery life is also annoying. I usually have resorted to just using computer labs. I know that a tablet can't replace a laptop, but I plan on buying a new laptop with whatever money I make next summer anyways. Having something more portable would just make things a little easier until then.
Am I justified in asking for this?

How many pages is Fahrenheit 451?
Alright, this is probably the most idiotic question ever. But does anyone have a copy of Fahrenheit 451 and could tell me how many pages are in it? This was a required book for summer reading, but our local libraries didn't have any copies. I then remembered I had a copy on my Kindle and finished the book on my e-reader. Now I have to fill out how many pages were in the book as part of a reading log, and my Kindle won't show the exact number of pages (it counts in the thousands for some reason???). I really want to get a good grade, so could someone tell me? Thank you so much, and sorry for the really stupid question.

Does the Kindle Fire HD have a comparable selection of apps/games to the iPad?
I currently have an iPad 2. I have a lot of games and apps on it that my niece enjoys to play. She like characters from Disney Jr, Nick Jr, Disney-Pixar, etc.and itunes has a lot of games and apps featuring these characters. She particularly likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally and the Disney-Pixar read along stories that also include mini-games.
Does the Kindle Fire HD have a lot of the same games and apps that itunes has?
Is there somewhere online I can search to see what kind of games and apps are available for the Kindle Fire HD before buying it?

Is $160 USD a good price for the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD?
Best Buy currently has the 7-inch model on sale for $160 (normally $200).Is that a good price? I am thinking of buying one for someone for Christmas and I don't want to pass up a good deal if this is one.

Is there an eReader that allows you to sort your ebooks?
I currently have the Kindle fire original (not HD) and, while I love it's performance and quality, I have decided that I want to change it for something that does more what I want. I tend to have a LOT of books at once on my kindle, so I need to be able to sort them into, say, folders or playlists? It'd be great if there were filters so I could search by author, series, genre, etc.
I don't want to do a step down in quality of the reader, though.

Why wont my kindle fire charge? - 1
Yesterday my kindle started having charging problems, when i plug it in the light goes green then to the normal orange but then the light gives out, it was on the charge all night and only went up 2% please help my kindle is my pride and joy :(

Kindle Fire: How to fix my keyboard?
Some of the letters on my keyboard get stuck when I'm trying to type. I tried reset a few times and once just this morning. I even had help from a lady over the phone. After she guided me through the reset I thought it was working and told her it was. I'm not very good at talking on the phone to business people and don't want to talk to this lady when she calls me back. The letters S, H and A are the most known to do this though others have got stuck here and there. I have Kindle Fire 2. Please tell me what I need to do.

This may sound awful but.?
Okay, I'm a 13 year old girl and my dad abuses my mom and I. He drinks way to much. And so, many times I have thought I should run away. But I always knew what a bad idea it was, with all the crimes these days, I concluded that it was trouble more than it was worth. Then, I conceived I plan where I would drive ideas of divorce into my moms head. I know it sounds awful, but it was destroying all of us mentally, even my dad.So I told my mom that I was having weird urges to go and kill my father in the night (another issue that has to be addressed, I did want to kill him) my mother was taken aback by what I said, and she said that if in a few months if it still is happening, we'd leave. Surprise! Surprise! It's been four months since then.My dad got sick a few weeks ago, and had to have surgery, so my mother wanted him to be alright. But now that he's fully recovered, he's back to his old ways! I really don't think that I can live like this much longer, so again I planned. And now, I'm going to do one of two plans I have come up with. Plan A: to provoke my father into a fight with myself of my mother, and kindling it until we will leave. Plan B: (this is my fallback in case the first one doesn't work) or I will make my mom let me move in with my grandparents until she gains enough common sense to do so herself.So, to you, what sounds the most rational? Or any ideas of your own? There are kids at my school who cut on themselves for past pains, and I really don't want to see my mom doing that, or worse, killing herself.So basically what I'm asking is how do I get my parents to break up, or how do I tell my mom I don't want to live in this house anymore?

My kindle microphone isn't working? Help?
Basically what happened was I left my kindle fire HD out in the rain one day and luckily for me everything still worked… well almost everything. I had skype on there and when I tried to talk to one of my friends on there they could barely hear me. Its gotten worst over half a year and I really want to fix it. The problem is the microphone is inside the kindle… and I don't know how to fix it. Please help? I don't want to use my parents phone for skype anymore (they're getting tired of it) and I don't want to shout into the microphone anymore (since me and my friends talk at night most of the time and I live in an apartment building) hopefully someone can help/give useful advice. Can my kindle fire be fixed?
The thing were you put the charger is broken. That means I can't charge my kindle I have used three different chargers on it and it won't charge is there a way I can fix or take it somewhere to be fixed or do I will i have to buy a new one.

Getting a Wi-Fi connection.?
I bought a Kindle and haven't put much thought to it. I just use the dictionary. But the Wi-Fi connection is what I need help with.My neighbor gets free Wi-Fi from one of her neighbors whom I don't know.My Internet connection on my home computer (not laptop) does not supply to the Kindle.So, how am I supposed to get a connection? I can't go somewhere with free Wi-Fi constantly to read, download, and/or buy books. How am I supposed to read in the comfort of my room on my Kindle… when I have no Wi-Fi for it?

How is my introductory sentence?
This is the first paragraph of my cover letter for a "Big 4" accounting firm. Please help me edit it and any feedback will help :)
In August, I had the privilege to participate in the XXX Local Conference, where I was able to nurture personal relationships with the XXX team and gain first-hand experience of the firm's culture. The experiences that you and your colleagues have shared with me confirmed in me on that XXX is the best opportunity for me to begin my own journey. The amazing people, endless support, and global opportunities across 158 territories are just a few of several reasons that have kindled my interest in XXX and moved me to write to you to be considered for the position Associate at XXX.

Is it weird that i want to start collecting kid books?
Im 28 and i dont have kids.but i do have many nieces/nephews.i love the little books, like the disney golden books/dr seuss books.i think it would be a great way to go to sleep, by reading something peaceful like a childrens book (i have OCD and sometimes struggle to sleep).

The chemistry behind kindling of a match stick?
Can someone explain me the chemistry behind kindling of a match stick?
Does the rubbing or striking, leading to friction, produce sufficient temperature that the wood(stick) starts burning?
I mean its hard to digest, as the ignition temperature of the wood is 290 degree centigrade.
So does that simple striking/rubbing/brushing can produce that much heat energy that the temperature reaches 290 degree centigrade?
And also what is that brownish substance made of?

Why Has My Internet Been So Slow?
I use Blue Ridge G-15 and I'm supposed to get 15Mbs Download and 2Mbs Upload.
For the past couple months my internet has been absolute ***. I don't know what's wrong but it'll have times where it'll be anywhere from mediocre to good and there'll be times where it'll be slow as hell.
It really comes out when I try to load a Youtube video. I remember a few months ago I could load a Youtube video at max quality faster than I could watch it. Now I have to wait awhile and sometimes it auto-sets the quality to minimum and still doesn't make progress (Which tells me my connection to the server is being completely severed.)
The thing is, I'm not losing my internet connection, it just gets really slow like something's throttling the living hell out of it.
I just ran a test on speedtest.net and it read:
Ping: 30ms
Download Speed: 1.46Mbs
Upload Speed: 0.69Mbs
I want either a fix for this problem or a program to detect something that might be eating up all my bandwidth.
I don't have any kind of wi-fi, my internet is not wireless, nobody can get on here and slow it down as if it were a public network, it's just my computer.My mom's Kindle is connected via wireless router but this problem was here before we even got the router and the router has had zero effect on it.

My Kindle Fire books aren't downloading?
Okay so, first I tried downloading a book and it downloaded to 1% and then it said "The download is taking longer than expected, go to the download to see… blah blah blah" so I wrnt to the Libary on my Kindle Fire and the book wasn't showing up… I checked my wifi, it was good, and I checked to see if I had the right credit card number and if wad right. Then I tried it agian, still didn't work. I tried reseting my Kindle and it still didn't work! Help please! How can I fix this?
