Simple ways to save money during my trip to London?

During Easter weekend and the week after, my parents and I will be in London! (We are American and this is our first time ever going abroad. We are spending 7 days in London, and 2 days out viewing the rolling hills of the country). While in London, we hope to see Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, where we hope to play tennis and rent bikes for the afternoon, see Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace & the changing of the guards, St. Paul's Cathedral, and visit some pubs and cafes! I know the time will go by quickly so I hope we have enough time to cover that all. Also, we do not know where we want to go on the 2 day country part, my mother just wants to see the countryside of England. Any suggestions? Preferably not too far of a drive. So any recommendations on how to save money? Also, are cafes and restaurants vegetarian friendly? I am technically a pescetarian because I eat fish, but I do not eat any meat. I hope this won't make dining difficult. Also, I sincerely apologize for any incorrect spelling. I am on my Kindle and not good with this whole touch screen thing. Thanks!

Youtube videos won't play on kindle fire hd?

I've had my kindle since Christmas, and it's been playing videos on YouTube fine. Until yesterday.

Suddenly, whenever I tap on a video the screen turns black. Every single video does this, and there wasn't a trigger for it or anything. I've already cleared my browser history and I can't think of anything else to do.

If anyone knows how I can fix it, I'd be very grateful:)

E-Reader, Tablet? Best for torrented books?

I am a student on a budget and i need some clarification on e-readers and e-books. I have an ipad but i find it uncomfortable and problematic. I was looking into buying an e-reader but then i discovered there are other options such as tablets. I was looking into the following e-readers/tablets: Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Glo, Kindle paperwhite. I want to know which one is the best, what types of formats the files i download will have to be to read by the device. I also want to know if it is worth buying a tablet to read comics/graphic novels because of the better screen resolution.

Why won't my kindle book covers show up?

I have a kindle paperwhite first generation. My wifi is a little bit messed up so I buy books and transfer them via usb. I have a mac by the way. The book downloads into azw3 format. The covers don't show up and I don't know why but it bothers me, because some covers are there, some aren't it looks so un neat. How can I get the covers to show up? Is my only option to go to Starbucks, use their wifi and try something (Like loading through the cloud)?

IPad mini vs Kindle Paperwhite - discuss?

So I'm about to get the iPad mini - the first one, not the retina one and recently I've been thinking I'd love to be able to read books on a tablet.

I'm not sure whether to use the Kindle app that comes in the Apple App Store and read books that way or just get a separate kindle paperwhite which I'm told is better because it doesn't glare and has a way longer battery life as well as clearer lettering.

All answers are appreciated since I need loads of opinions to make my mind up!

How to deDRM an azw3 file?

hello all I was wondering how to deDRM a AZW3 file currently I have tried all the calibre plugins I could find off the internet and all of the softwares one could find the only one that has worked is kindle DRM removal but I can only do 2 books before I have to buy it and I don't have a lot of money therefore that is not an option. Does anyone know of a good software for any platform that can deDRM AZW3 files?

I am aware of the legal implications but I don't think it is that bad to transfer the books that I bought for my kindle to then put them on my nook… I am not going to distribute them I just need to deDRM then convert the file so I can have the book on both my kindle and my nook. If you have a problem with me trying not to buy the same book twice than don't answer this question!

Kindle fire 2nd gen suddenly won't play youtube?

Ive been having a few issues with it freezing up since k got it. Today I was watching a tutorial on youtube and the next video and every single one after that woild not play or show the bar at the bottom where you can skip to other parts. It just had a black screen then about 5 seocnd later a picture od the first frame of the video will show up and just be there. Why has this happened and how can I fix it? I habe restarted it, closed tabs, cleared history, looked at setting s and I cant figure this out and its driving me crazy! I use this for school all the time help!

YouTube wont show videos on my Kindle Fire hd?

Earlier yesterday it worked fine!
But today, I got to a video (works fine) I clicked its link and came to the video (works fine) I click play, bam, nothing is fine!
It won't load the video, it won't play the video, and even when I refresh it, turn off my Kindle, and even exit the whole browser it still won't work…

Suggestions for lazy, stubborn son?

My son just turned 14. He went to private school from kindergarten until 6th grade. From 7th grade until now, he's been not doing homework, not studying, poor quiz and test grades. His punishments are not working. Before I say his punishments, please know that it's built up to this and we've tried positive rewards, negative consequences, a mixture. None of it works. So here's his current consequences:

Missing homework= -$10 from allowance for each assignment.
Not writing homework assignments down= -$5 from allowance.

He has nothing left to take away. He lost his computer, iPhone, Kindle, and all TV time. He just doesn't seem to care. My other two kids are not an issue. The threat alone works on them. They don't want to lose any privileges or allowance. What else can I do? He knows what he has to do to earn things back and he just doesn't want to do it. Any help would be great.

Brand new kindle fire hd says 'Enter password to decrypt device'?

All I did was register it and it kept restarting, then I signed in with my email address and looked around to get the hang of it but it restarted again and now when I unlock it it comes up with 'Enter password to decrypt device' and I have no idea what to do. I entered my kindle password and that's not it and I can't get into it to reset it the kindle.
After searching the internet I found next to nothing so I hoped someone would be able to help here.

Unable to download Terraria on Kindle Fire?

So, I have tried to download Terraria on my kindle fire, but when I press "install" about a second later it says, "There was an error while downloading Terraria. Please try again." Ideally I'd like to be able to listen to the books while I'm outside taking my son in the stroller for a walk. Or listen to it while he is napping.

I was trying to watch an hour show on my kindle fire HD and it buff about every minute or two. I have slow net obviously. I want to call my provider tomorrow and upgrade these are what they offer.

6 meg 768/6.14 75 GB
3 meg 348/3.07 50 GB
1.5 meg 256/1.54 20 GB

It's probably best to get the highest one but I would like to get the 1.5 or 3. I can't spend too much more money.

I also did a speed test and this is what they said
0.53mb for donwloading 0.14mb for uploading and 16ms for latency

PLEASE HELP! Im finding things online like 3mb but my net says nothing about mbs.

Do all Kindle models have a dictionary function?

I'm thinking about getting a Kindle based mainly on the dictionary function, in particular for Spanish language novels. From what I understand I will have to have a Spanish language dictionary one the device as well.

I'm not looking for the most sophisticated model of the Kindle, just one that performs the above function.

As they vary considerably in price, can anyone provide guidance on my question above? If there is a significant difference in the quality of this particular function between models that would also be good to know.

I have sisco wireless that any time I have to unplug it, the wireless resets. Yet every other Internet device is working, like kindle n iPad. But my laptop wireless ain't working. Why is Bluetooth on Windows 8 not working?

I am getting tired of Windows 8. Yesterday, I tried to connect my Kindle Fire HD 2013 tablet to it via Bluetooth to transfer some files, but the computer is not recognising it. The name of the computer would appear on the Kindle Fire, and when I press "Pair", a pass code comes up on the Kindle. Apparently, the same pass code is supposed to appear on the computer, however, all the computer says is that there is a new device available. When I press the box which says that, it says the setup failed. The first time it was done, the pass code appeared, but setting it up also failed. I've tried adding a new device manually, and allowing it to connect, with no avail. And Bluetooth is on for BOTH devices. It is definitely not my Kindle, because my PC is recognised by the tablet, but my computer does not see the Kindle.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?
Is there a way to fix this, if at all?
Is Bluetooth even compatible with this version of Windows?

Best way to get fav authors atograph?

I'm going to comi con, to see my favorite author speak, and sign autographs. I'm thinking, of taking my kindle paper white, so she can sign the back. I plain on taping some notebook paper, on the back, having her sign it, then at home latter somehow laminating it on the back to make sure i don't ruin the signature, and to make it stay.
is this a good idea? Or should i just buy a book there? I've also never gone to comi con, so i don't know if they will even let me do this. Has this been done before? Will this hurt my paper white?

Any ideas for Kindle Fire HD that keeps freezing?

Kindle Fire keeps stopping when on internet or typing text. I have reset by holding on off button. Months ago it was doing this so I went to Kindle support. They walked me through resetting to factory defaults and it worked perfectly until the the last few weeks. It has 70% free space. When it freezes up it shows the message "Silk has stopped and needs to close"
Any ideas? I would prefer not using the restore option because I lose my videos and music.

I used this website to convert my kindle books to iBooks format (.epub), yet the highlights and notes are all gone.
