I was trying to root my kindle fire 1st gen. Now its stuck on the splash screen. Help?

i was rooting my kindle 1st gen and it stopped midway. There was some error. Now it's stuck on the plash screen. My computer isn't recognizing the kindle everytime I connect, it gives me the error "the last USB device you connected has malfunctioned, windows cannot recognize it" I've tried the kundleunbrickutility as well as the kindlefireutility. Nothing works. Please help.

Am I the only one without a kindle these days?

To past the time by, I would like to start reading again. I haven't read books in while and thought I'd read something I've wanted to read in forever. I want to read Harry Potter.

I'll admit, I've never picked up a Harry Potter book until a few months ago. I read the first book and I'll read it again soon. I would like to read the rest of the series. I'm hesitant to purchase paperback or hard copy books, but I like them.

In technology today, everyone these days are using kindles. I don't have any knowledge about them other than having a kindle would save tons of book shelve space. It's a bit out of my price range, but I save up until I can afford one. What should I do? Save up to purchase a kindle(to read HP and other books), or get the paperback Harry Potter books, etc?

Not get bored on a plane ride?

so i'm going on holiday to las vegas and our first flight is from glasgow to gatwick, then we have to wait at the airport for almost 3 hours an then the flight from gatwick to las vegas is about 10 and a half hours. I love airports and airplane rides and all, but i can see myself running out of things to do and getting bored. Any tips or ideas on how to pass time in the airport and on the airplane, and what sorts of thing you would do yourself?

I am having suicidal thoughts again?

I am now just turning 12, my family is starting to split apart, my oldest brother is never home, same with the other, and my 14 year old brother left for military school. I have friends at school, but I don't feel like they are my friends. I can never have a deep or real conversation with them. I am crying before I fall asleep ever night, no matter if I fall asleep at 7:00 or 2:00 I wake up exhausted. I am starting to lay low with my counselor and meeting once a month. I am feeling quite depressed and I have started to think about very disturbing things. I don't know if I should tell my counselor or not, I might **** my entire life up or fix it. Last time I talked about suicidal thoughts my parents almost threw me in a mental hospital. I am always glued to my screen, tv or kindle and I feel like I'm worthless and pityed. Please help, I feel like I'm hitting a dark end of my life.

Publishing a kindle ebook on Amazon without a bank account?

Out of curiousity, I published a kindle ebook on Amazon but the bank details are all false.
It was nothing serious but after a week, I saw that someone bought a copy.

Question: What happens to the money? Is it lost forever or it will wait there until I updated the bank information with a real one?

I want to create a story, that is a choose your own adventure. For my android phone?

I wrote it out in Microsoft Publisher with hyperlinks from page to page. If I publish it in HTML it works on my PC (although things move around the page). But what I really wanted was for it to work on a kindle or android phone. HTML is not supported on those devices. So I publish it as a pdf and it works except that with kindle and Polaris office you are allowed to change pages without using the links. Makes it too easy to kind of cheat to the result you want. Any better ideas than what I am doing?

I have had The Book Thief on my reading list for ages but have never got round to reading it. Now they have made a movie based on it the beautiful cover art of a sketch of a girl dancing with death has been changed to a still shot of the movie. I really want to download it and start reading in but I don't want to see an advert to watch the movie revolving around in my carousal because I don't want to watch the movie I want to read the book. Is there a way to change the cover art?

Best tablets for drawing and writing?

I want an inexpensive tablet (around $200-$300) that can be used for both drawing and writing stories on (maybe you can hook up a keyboard). I don't mean the kind of tablet that you hook up to a computer, I mean a tablet like an iPad or Kindle Fire.

Where could music and videos be on Kindle Fire?

I have downladed music and video to Kindle fire using a third party downloader. Yet when I open the Kndle on pc, I can't find the files. I look in every folder, but not there. They are on the downloader program, but must be in some hidden folder. Where could they be?

USB port not charging phone or tablet?

I've been messing about with some electronics stuff and want to be able to charge phones, tablets and similar stuff from AA batteries, just in case I have a use for doing so one day, such as if I'm camping for some bizarre reason, or just to see how long the batteries last to get a good idea on how good a power source they may be for other stuff. It should also be able to provide more power than most emergency chargers (regulator can take up to 3A). In case you're wondering, the batteries are just hooked up to a 5v regulator and then that's connected to a barrel connector that goes into a barrel to USB port thing.

Measuring it with a multimeter, slightly more than 5v comes out the regulator (still within the +5%/-5% range) and it charges an emergency phone charger and camera, but a phone and tablet will not react to being plugged in. I heard in the past that doing something with the data pins is required but I'm not sure what and the port doesn't look like it's easy to open up or anything. On top of that, there will only be a positive and negative going into the port itself.

So, if possible, please state why it may not be working with those devices but works with some other stuff. If it matters, the phone is a Samsung Galaxy GT-S5830 and the tablet is a Kindle Fire HD [First Generation].
Added (1). It is also capable of powering a Pi. Of course, that all makes sense as the Pi will ignore any data pins, just like the emergency phone charger.

So, I'm planning on writing a e-book?

So basically, I am 13 years old and I want to write a book from scratch. I don't want it to be amazing. Just something that can make me a couple hundred dollars. Maybe possibly even help with getting into college or university 5 or 6 years ahead. If I like writing, I might make more. But the problem is,

1. I have no idea wtf to write about
2. I don't know where to write it. Since it will be sold as a kindle e-book on amazon I don't know where I need to write it. What program, and if there is a specific program to do such action.

Kindle frozen and won't turn on?

I've tried the power button but it doesn't seem to be registering. I've tried holding it down for 30 seconds, but it doesn't work. When I plug it in to charge, it lights up as if it is charging, but the computer doesn't register it either.

Back in the day I read books 3 though 6 and never finished the series. I own all the movies and seen them many times. But I was wondering if it is worth reading especially since I plan to buy the kindle versions.
