I pre-ordered a book for my kindle fire, but it was never delivered?

I preordered Shades of Earth by Beth Revis a couple of months ago, and I found out today that it has been released, but it was never delivered to my kindle. I bought the book just now, will I be charged for both books? will I have two of the same book on my device?

Is there a kindle app that can shut off kindle after a certain time?

My 5 year old loves his kindle and it helps him settle in at night in bed.Is there an app that can autamatically shut it down after a certain time at night? I don't want to keep yelling into him to shut it off. We have been displaced from hurrican sandy and it was his comfort toy to get back into a bedtime routine again. We are moving home and I'm hoping I can get him to bed without it but if not I want it to shut off at a certain time. Thanks

How to put kindle keyboard books on the cloud?

OK, so I have a kindle keyboard with about 50 books on it. Then I bought an ipad and put the kindle ap on it. I assumed the ipad ap and my kindle would just sync but that didn't happen.It says there are no books in the library. I opened safari and logged into amazon to see if that would help but it didn't.

I keep seeing things about how your book has to be on the cloud to access it on other devices. I'm unable to find a way to do that.

I'm beginning to assume the kindle keyboard is too old (?) to sync with my kindle ap on ipad the way I had hoped. However, if there's a way to do it, please let me know!

Which is better, a cover or sleeve?

I have a kindle fire hd and i have a case on it now

but it makes the kindle thick and i don't like it. I really wanted a much thinner case that protects, has good reviews and a good decent price, but i'm also having trouble finding one i like. I also though about a sleeve, but do they protect well? What are the pros and cons of a sleeve instead of a case. And what are some options that I could buy .

Hi I just bought a lap top with windows 8 on it. And im trying to access the Internet but my family says I can't download or run my apps because they have limited data.So how can I turn them all off because when I turned it on one day they all started running.Im trying to turn them all off. I still what them on my computer. I just don't want them running while im using my family's internet. And once there off how do I know that they are off? I don't want to go check my email one day then find that my kindle app or Netflix app running.

Cannot connect to wifi with kindle fire?

I can connect everywhere except my house. When i put in my password it says authentication failed.maybe i am putting in the wrong password or tried to many failed attempts and got locked out.is there a way to reset my password?

Starting a new college (ASU) that uses many ebooks. I have an amazon kindle touch now, but I'm thinking about getting an iPad for graduation and for my new school. What is better to buy ebooks from, amazon or ibooks? What do you prefer and why?

Kindle Basic vs Kindle Touch?

I'm an avid reader and I feel like I'm betraying myself by getting a kindle! However, I'm starting grad school and would like to start purchasing my textbooks as ebooks, which requires a kindle.

However, I, for the life of me, cannot figure out if the original kindle or the touch is better! I am told that with the touch I can also email papers and online journals etc.from my student account to my kindle to read that way, which sort of gives it a "one-up" in my book (pun not intended)

Does anyone have experience with these two? Any opinions? (I do not want the keyboard one etc, so please don't suggest another model, it's between these two)

The decision between buying a tablet (IE: Nexus 7) and a Kindle, to me, is based on how comfortable I can read for a long time without feeling my eyes get tired. I was wondering, is there any advantage to owning a Kindle? Or, is it the same to just have the Kindle ap on a tablet?

Added (1). My book is an autobiography about a non famous person. The book contains information that gives insight on children being raised by group homes and foster homes. Also talks about mental abuse etc. I thought it might be good for psychology students.
Added (2). @ Baby .. I went on her book club website and found the answer on page 3 under frequently asked questions. The answer is you can not submit your book and Oprah choices books personally after she comes across one herself. But I still would like some good direction from an experienced eBook Author as far as marketing goes.

Mobile phone contract - UK?

I am with Orange and got my contract through Orange direct but it ends in June. I am wanting to go through a deal with the carphone warehouse as I want the kindle with my phone contract but would they be able to do this now and I pay off the remaining contract with orange? Why can I not purchase a book on my kindle?

I have been through it a dozen times! I'm trying to buy mimi jeans newest installment of the 'accidentally yours series' but the book hasn't come up. Which tablet device is bette; the iPad Mini vs the Kindle Fire HD?

I need to know the pros and cons of each tablet. I like the Kindle devices but I heard the Kindle Fire HD is kind of laggy. I want a new tablet device because the internet browsing is super slow, the games keep freezing which always makes me do an inproper shut down and I'm not pleased with the back cover warming up. Why get a 32gb tablet over a 16gb?

I'm trying to decide whether to get a google nexus 10 over google play (16gb and $400) or just go to my local staples (32gb and $500). Yeah, there's no expandable storage. And yeah, twice the space. But for $100 more? Hm…

I have a kindle fire hd right now and I only use 3gb.It would be hard for me to fill up just 16gb. But, the nexus 10 is really good and I can see it lasting for a while… and with the screen, I may be tempted to download movies for camp this summer, something I've never done.

Convince me to take the easy route and just go to the store! Or not.
Added (1). Also one more thing: I'm a tech geek. I recycle (sell and buy better) my electronic products pretty quickly. The 32 gb would give it some resale value… but just the same as the 16gb so maybe that makes a difference, maybe not.

Do I need to drop charter's Wifi service?

I get 100 mpbs from Charter and lately I have been noticing lag on Xbox. I also notice that sometimes I have to reconnect my PC to the internet because it will be very slow.My Roku and my Kindle Fire also need to sometimes reconnect to our internet. Charter stopped officially supporting Wifi a few months ago but they said that they would still support anyone who already has it.My question is, should I cancel Charter's Wifi service and just get my own router? Do you think this is a Wifi issue or is it an internet issue different from Wifi? And if I do end up needing to get my own router, what can I get for under $80? I don't need a super mega humper 9 million mbps or anything, I need something for 100 mbps for a regular 2 story house that can support 2 wired connections. I don't need a gaming one. I do gaming but honestly I think the ones that are made for gaming are kind of too expensive considering that I got by with 15 mbps and a G router when I had an apartment and I never had an issue.

Which should I read first: The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings?

Everyone I know tells me I should read or should already have read the famous series by J. R.R. Tolkien.It's a classic, I know. And as an avid reader I should have picked up this series a long time ago but I find it's a little intimidating somehow. I know that the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are somewhat connected(I think). Which should I read first? I'd also appreciate if you guys can tell me what exactly I need to know for my buying journey. I know they are available for Kindle so I'll be purchasing that way.

Book of the Week Club by Mail?

I'm looking for the perfect gift for a person who loves to read a lot. "The Book of the Month Club" first entered my head, but I was wondering if there were a program available where they send you a new bestseller every week by mail. I've been looking online and I can't find any. Point me in the right direction. This sort of thing would be a great idea for someone who utilizes the library and kindle already… With a program like this doing the legwork already by sending bestsellers that are new, that would be ideal.

LG Extravert Suddenly Won't Charge?

I had a Verizon LG Extravert since late august and it's never given me problems before. This morning my battery was low so I plugged it into my computer using the USB charging cable. I used my Kindle cable which is the same exact thing as the one that came with it. When I plug it in the phone says something like "this is not the correct cable" but it always would charge anyways. After charging for a few hours I unplugged it and it instantly died. I tried recharging it again with the cable that came with it and it still will not charge. The battery has been working fine, still has an awsomely long battery life actually, and I haven't dropped it in water or anything of the sort. Any idea why it suddenly won't charge?

Why aren't there any gay commercials Gay Kindle Commercial?

I just recently saw the Gay Kindle Commercial and it's hilarious.It's awesome that they'd show such support for the gay community so openly. Most businesses are scared of doing that, because they're afraid of losing business. I will probably end up going out of my way just to buy a Kindle even though I already have an iPad. I like and fully support what Amazon is doing. :)

What to do to help sales of books and views on youtube channel?

I write children's books.
I do all books from Education books, learning books, ABC books, Number books, Picture books, colouring books for boys and girls, baby record books, story books and more.
My books are cheap to buy in book form (on amazon) and on kindle.

I have recently made a youtube channel and 2 videos showing the books that i sell.i do offers like this weekend (4th of may until 5th of may) people will be able to get 1 of my children's story books for FREE on kindle.
