Help finding a book title

I read a book a while back that I want to check if it has a sequel but can't remember the middle word of the title and the 2 others are too general "The _____ Girls". It's about this girl who starts playing a VR scifi game with 3 main factions, its basically a better Star Citizen from a gameplay standpoint. She meets a female character being played by a boy with a voice changer in an AO area. They form the game's version of a clan and then she follows a tangent of a quest that makes her the first owner of a Ship in the game. And by a fluke they are the first people to record and post a video of themselves from inside the game. At the very end the girl who at that point had been shy IRL and fem-Solo in game loses a bet and has to be a waitress in an AO bar in a station in an important star system. It was on Amazon in the Kindle Unlimited but if it was listed somewhere on my account it must have timed out.

How to play video on my netbook?

I wanted a tablet to play Netflix and Amazon movies, perhaps read some kindle books. A friend gave me a MSI U100 netbook. I tried to see videos but the image stuttered. I changed the Wifi card, increased memory and changed the hard drive to a SSD, there was an improvement but the machine still stuttered. I tried changing the resolution from 1024x600 to 800x600 but still have problems. Is there anything I can do?

Kindle Fire HD not showing up on Mac/Computer?

I'm wanting to connect my old Kindle Fire HD (2012 2nd Gen) to my Macbook but I can't get it to show up. I've tried 2 Micro USBs and both of my USB ports (all work fine) and it charges the Kindle, but doesn't show up as a device.

I've restarted both my Kindle and the Macbook several times with no luck. Is it just too old? It's hardly been used.

Tear-stained, he kept going, at last all his prayers seemed to have been answered.
"Land!" He yelled.
Near the horizon, a white mass floated gently despite the ravenous sea, just a short while away. Martin felt a fire of hope kindle in his soul for the very first time since the shipwreck, maybe now, he could actually set foot on sweet land once more. Re-fuelled with hope, he pushed on forwards against the sea, then, his blood came to a stand-still. He felt rubbery leather graze his skin, he swallowed a hard mass of spit and looked down into the dark, murky ocean; a set of beady black eyes stared back at him, a blue fin cut streams through the ocean and a fin followed. Martin stopped. His heart palpitating, his body deadlocked in position, that fire of hope had now been quenched. The creature jumped up, it skin glistening under the gold sunlight and dived at the raft splitting it into shards; Martin plunged into the cold water, he could feel it slowly seep in through his nose. Fill his lungs. Burn his eyes. They say your life flashes before your eyes, all Martin saw was that one moment that would never leave his memory.

Do Kindle books usually include pictures?

So I just got done reading a book on my kindle about a movie series I like and the production behind the movies. The hard copy was pricier but included the pictures of the production that were in the book. I bought the book on my kindle but I noticed that there were no pictures in it. At first I thought the pictures were in the end of the book or around the middle and I flipped through the kindle book looking for the them but did not find any. The book was still really good, but not having pictures in it kind of sucked because who wouldn't want to see pictures of the production from a movie you liked.

What is acceptable to pack into a hospital bag/ and how big should the bag be?

I'm in the process of waiting on a reply from my doctor to see if I can be admitted to the hospital for my really bad asthma flare. I'm hoping that he says yes he will admit me as I know that is what he is needed. I had a hospital bad packed before just in case but I'm not sure what is allowed to go in it. And I'm not sure how big of a bag I will need or be allowed to take, my old bag that I had was a bookbag but that was a lil small. In my old bag I had things like blanket, pjs, toiletries, coloring book/pencils, kindle,cards,charger, meds,snacks and things like that. I'm a lil scared to be honest to go the hospital for a stay, never had to stay before so this might sound weird but would it be ok to take a stuffed animal to keep me calm and relaxed. Also I was thinking of taking my laptop with me if that is ok, I have finals this week so I can graduate college, I will take a final today and was gonna do one on Thursday so can I take my laptop as well so I can take my final. Are the things I listed ok to take to take with me to the hospital for a stay? And what kind of bag should I use? All I have is bookbag and a huge bag on wheels. I need stuff to keep me busy while there as I will be alone all day by myself while my mom works. Also can I take scissors so I can work on stuff for my grad party? If this plays out like I want it will be all new to me, so please advise me on what I can and can't take to the hospital with me and also what size bag is ok to use?

Ok so last Saturday (Today is Wenseday, Nov 29 2017) I went to my cousins house and my phone was dead, and I didn't have a charger with me. I noticed that my cousins had a Kindle with the charger I use for my phone plugged into it. So, I asked if I could use it and they said yes. After, it charged, I plugged the charger back into the Kindle.
Ok so recently on my phone notifications at the top of the screen, I see a notification and it says VIZO at Escandon-5G, and there are a ton of buttons that say power, turn up, turn down, mute etc. Escandon is their last name, and even when I swipe the notification away it always comes back.

Hi everyone, first of all sorry to bore if I'm, I have been recently practicing bush craft lately and I thought well it might be my saving grace one day. So I started watching proper videos rather than just chucking loads of paper and a lump of sticks. I collected Tinder Kindling and larger firewood. I started with a Tepee One cold night and basically I know a lot has to do with he size of wood you use, the conditions outside and how big the fire is, but it was only warm if you stood like up to half a meters away, it was good if you were really near it, if you walked a few steps and laid down its not that warm it needed a **** load of wood too. So my question would the log cabin be better the long fire I know is more for extreme climates.
So what fires are best on hot days, cold days, extreme weather days ect when is it best to use a Tipi, Log Cabin, Upside down fire, LongFire, Dakota Fire?
Added (1). So my take would be the average day when its not to cold or warm windy or whatever ad abundance of wood you would use Tipi. Shortage of wood or resources and conserving wood or even if conditions are to cold or windy or less than ideal you use Log Cabin? Upside down fire can be for low maintenance and in any conditions except for heavy rainfall or heavy winter conditions. Long Fire can be useful for extreme survival situations or extreme winter conditions.
Added (2). Star fire for not so cold nights and not to wet days or nights. Dakotas more a stealth fire can't imagine what situation you'd use that for maybe military intelligence teams.

Help me with the book Salem ' s Lot?

I have just read the Kindle edition and after the story of the main protagonist and the boy concludes, there's a whole lot more writing which seems unnecessary, or instance there's a long section of letter writing correspondence supposedly from the 1800's which I did not feel inclined to read, as the main core of the novel was compelling and quite enough. So, was wondering if anyone reading this has read the paper version of Salem's Lot, because I think this just does not fit well and my Kindle version contains deleted scenes so perhaps the section I mentioned was just a special feature, so to speak? It only makes sense that as things become more irrational in California, it will result in a deterioration of the quality of life. Like more taxes to support more welfare recipients only increases the number of welfare recipients who live like welfare recipients. Likewise, California has long been on an environment cause which means that they have an artificial life in a natural environment without consideration of natural hazards. Like fire. It is sort of like living in an apartment complex with wood stairs. You have noticed that usually the stairs are made out of steel (and you never wondered why). So, now California wine country is on fire and it makes one wonder if the vineyards owners have ever worried about them catching on fire. Grape bushes are like kindling, very flammable. For example. Can they flood a portion of a vineyard to build a fire barrier and would they have the water to do it? Or is the water restricted by the environmentalists? Are the power lines right of ways clean enough to keep power on? Or do they let it overgrow to reduce down the visual pollution?

For christmas I'm asking my mom for a kindle cause I love reading and buying a kindle is way easier than going to the bookstore all the time. I'm looking rough as **** lately. But I feel even worse! I just can't sleep properly anymore and I don't know what's causing it

I get in bed and just lay there with my eyes closed and I can hear everything around me. Then maybe about an hour later I fall asleep and dream. The dream ends and I'm just laid there with my eyes closed again. I honestly can't remember the last time I slept right through. My dreams used to last all night

How can you get into Jane Austen books?

My aunt loves Jane Austen and gave me the full set on her kindle account. She says it explores issues in society that women went through centuries ago that are still going on today. Which is amazing apprently.
So. I decided to read pride in hard copy once and gave up half way. It was hard to understand. Although I did learn a lot of new words.
Would reading any other Jane Austen book be any different?

I have no idea how that business works. Half of the I items I order probably cost more to ship than the price of the product. And even then I sometimes return them, which is free of course. All of the products are competitively priced and that's if other stores even provide them. I mean what the ****. Then all of their other services, most importantly to me, the kindle store. Then they also offer a few good shows and movies with prime which is totally unnecessary. I feel like I should be donating to amazon, how in the hell are they in business.

How much firewood would you need to last 16+ hours? In the woods?

Hi all thanks for taking the time to read this, want to go camping and have the usual caveman style fire but don't know or want to know is there anyway I can decipher how much I'd need for a whole night 12+ Hours. I've read about the Long fire but even though that burns for hours and is easy to set up you need alot of large sticks and logs whereas more typical stylexample fires are more time consuming and take more planning it takes less wood per say I can imagine. I know what the rate for a long fire is about 1/2 inch of wood per hour you want it to burn for then just add sticks across the platform of it
Two short logs to long logs stick them full of kindling spend a few hours gathering thicker sticks possibly logs then light it up. How much wood woukd I need per hour for something like a dakota teepee or log cabin? A armful of sticks per hour? Anyone help it might save my life one day lol ANEWER Please.

I have a problem with my mother (who is 53) when i can't even tell her or show her what i like without her trying to get the same thing, if not first. Let's say if i tell her that I want to get myself a sequin long sleeve shirt, she will get a long sleeve shirt. (that actually happened, i got myself a sequin long sleeve shirt, she told me she likes it. And i said i was going to wear it on new years eve. Well, that week she got one almost identical and she wore it on new years eve) Two years ago I thought I was going to attend college that year (i didn't) so i bought myself a laptop for my school work. I showed it to my mom, and that week she got herself the same laptop. That year there was a commercial online about a tablet (kindle) on sale and i told my mom. But my mom bought it first. Lastly, my mom dyed her hair red. I told her it was beautiful and since i love Gothic style, i told her that her hair reminded me of a Gothic red headed woman. Today, she coincidentally buys herself gothic attire. I kinda went off steam and told her how i felt about the situation. She brushed it off and thought I was being and making me feel like i'm the one who copies her by telling me that she is ALWAYS BEEN GOTHIC way before me. (I'm 31 and i have been gothic since 13) (Btw, i'm not telling her that she can't dress gothic or get anything like that I'm just saying that it bothers me because it is coincidental)

Can you publish fanfiction?

I know this might sound like a stupid question but it's one that has a lot of doubts. I've seen Sherlock Holmes fanfiction published like A Study in Emerald and The Twisted Blackmailer. But I've been told that Sherlock Holmes is in public domain so you can actually sell fanfiction of Arthur Conan Doyle's original books.

But then I found a fanfiction book of Teen Wolf being sold on Kindle Amazon. And as far as I know, Teen Wolf is not part of Amazon's worlds where creators gave permission for the sale of fanfiction of some shows and books.

So can someone clear this up? Can I publish fanfiction? What fanfiction can I publish? Where can I publish it? And how likely am I to get into copyright issues even if I follow the rules?

Searched Amazon store for a while and found a bit of free book out there (usually fiction and story books)

I bought my kindle in order to read business books /education because I don't want to move around with heavy book.

Books like:

Real estate
Franchise owning
The Franchise MBA: Mastering the 4 Essential Steps to Owning a Franchise
and so on…(books that teaches you. Real things)

Usually these books cost on Amazon store about 9-18$ each ebook.

I'm wondering how people read on kindle. Do they pay for every book, it's insane - would be thousands of dollars.

How can I download these books for free? Is it possible? I know that everything has a break/breach /hack/root.

You tell me that Amazon book store doesn't have a hack?

Google books. How can I read there?is It free? The only thing I can do there's rate /ad to wish list the book.

Email docs to amazon fire without changing format?

I have an amazon fire, don't know how to se the docs particularly well. When I download a doc. File it stays as a doc and I can edit it. When I email myself a personal word doc file it automatically converts it to the kindle format.

I need my files in doc form so I can edit them, not just highlight. Can I change the format that I email them in or woud I have to email them to another account and download them as is?

When I try to search for how to submit to "Kindle Singles" and their guidelines, etc., the only page I can find through Amazon is the following:

"Submissions Policy
Kindle Singles is not accepting unsolicited manuscripts at this time. Our editors will respond to all submissions currently in the queue as of June 22nd, 2017."

I'm guessing this just means they are not taking submissions at this time because, and I'm only guessing, they want to catch up with submissions made before June 22nd before taking in more?

What to buy the dad who has everything?

His hobbies are changing every five seconds and currently it is digitalising his bookkeeping company, and kinda coding too.

He also plays golf occasionally, but not as much as he used to. He doesn't read real books only on kindle, and he's dieting so while he would love some chocolate he will feel guilty about eating it and that feels a little cruel.

What the hell do I get him?! He likes gadgets, but if it's not top of the range (like a drone or something) he doesn't care much for it. Also he's not really into collecting things thinking they're kinda pointless, and he doesn't listen to music. Sometimes audiobooks though.

I'm 18 and basically I have a limit of £30 maximum. I'm stumped, this happens every year. (Also he's not a very sentimental person, so something like a poem he'll think a little weird).

Is Google Bookmarks working? Has anyone been able to get into it? I can't seem to get it to load

I've tried both in my Google Chrome browser and tried to navigate to it on my Kindle Fire, neither of them load. It seems like it just continues to claim to load without actually doing so. Is anyone able to get in there? What could be happening? =/

My headphones are crackling and echo-y?

My headphones will crackle and echo when I don't press down on the mic button. The headphones work fine when plugged into my computer, but when I plug them into my Kindle Fire, they start crackling. I can't find any solutions for this, please help.

How do I know if my Kindle Fire is charging?

It's been dead and out of use for about a month, so I know it might take a while to turn on. Thing is, I'm not sure I'm using the right cord. I couldn't find the one that said amazon on it but i found one that says samsung and fits into the kindle (i have an iphone so i doubt it's a phone charger). The kindle didn't do anything at first when i hit the power button, but now when I hit it the battery on red symbol shows up with a lightning bolt under it. Does that mean it's charging or it needs to be charged? I feel like it's charging because it didn't even show that symbol earlier when pressing on, but i don't know. Please help

When I try to go to the book store it will open and show me the home page but when I try to search something or click on something it tells me it can't and to check my internet connection. How do I fix my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 Red Screen?

Last week I bricked my Kindle 8.9 2nd generation and now it has a red screen as soon as I boot it up. So tried the fastboot but there's no device detected. See pic. What do you do for network streaming?

I have an old computer I have a ton of movies and tv shows on. I have everything currently managed by the default windows sharing (WMP/normal file sharing) and play the media over the xbox/kindle fire. Xbox360 lets me go through the network and find files on the computer to play. I have VLC on the fire that does the same thing. I've been told there are better options. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Hi, after pairing them with my Kindle Fire HD and my Iphone I wanted to pair them with my PC, only problem it doesn't have bluetooth so I had to buy a bluetooth dongle unfortunately by the time it was delivered I managed to lose the instructions and I remember there were some steps you had to take when pairing to a computer than other devices so, as in the title my question is "How do you pair your FSL-Zero Headphones with your PC?"

If I self-publish with Kindle, how will taxes work?

I know absolutely nothing about taxes, at all, so please bear with me…

Assuming I make decent sales and start getting royalties from self-published e-books on Kindle, how exactly are taxes going to work? Does it work like a regular employer, where a cut is automatically taken out for taxes and social security? Or is this something I have to calculate and set aside myself? If it's the latter, how would I go about paying that to the IRS, and on what schedule? What sort of records do I need to keep? What about tax returns?

Why can't I find this book for kindle? Battle Royale?

I got the kindle touch for Christmas, from my parents. I've already read four books (Since Christmas) on this, and am curently looking for a new young adult novel. I loved the Huner Games, and have been debating downloading Battle Royale, the novel that was originally written by a japenease author, but was translated into english. Should my daughter switch to a different Girl Scout troop?

We moved to Oklahoma and my daughter joined a girl scout troop in our area. Shes enjoyed being in the troop until this year. I paid for my membership to be adult member/assistant troop leader and have done everything the leader has asked me to do. This year, was daughters first cookie sale and she sold 600 boxes. The leader kept making comment of how exhausting this year is since we did over 15 cookie booths which my daughter and I were at all but one booth as was her daughter. She said how one of her parents "took over" as cookie coordinator last year and did everything and all she had to do was show up. I signed up as her cookie coordinator this year and told her since I was new to the whole cookie thing, that I would not take over the entire operation but would do the booth scheduling, set up, take down, box pick up etc. She would handle the money, paperwork, etc. And that next year, I will know what to expect and I can "Take over it all" meaning the cookie sales. She blew up at me and yelled at me in front of girls and a couple teachers and parents who were witness to accuse me of saying I was plotting to take over her troop when I was talking about cookie season. My children are home schooled and we meet at the local public school and because my husband works, my son comes to the weekly meetings. He sits quietly in the back of the room and plays on my kindle as to not be a distraction to her meeting. We,including my son, went outside to work on a "get active" badge and exercise. When we finsihed as we were headed back to the building, my son said he needed to use the restroom and so I stood at the door and watched him go to the restroom location. The leader then made me out to be this neglectful parent stating that he is unsupervised and made comment in front of the entire troop that a responsible person supervises kids and when I told her that I know exactly where my son is, that he got my permission to use the restroom and I watched him go to the restroom and I can see him come out of the restroom, she replies "well I didn't see that" and acts snobby and did not even apologize then at the conclusion of the meeting tells me that my son plays on the kindle and throws it in her daughter and her face that we have electronics and they don't. First of all, my son doesn't utter a peep during the meeting and he stays out of the way and the kindle is on silent. I explained that I did not appreciate being made out to be an irresponsible parent in front of the girls and did not deserve that while this was going on, her daughter went over to my son and wrote on the kindle "X BF" and circled it and told my daughter that she was her EX Best Friend which hurt my daughter's feelings as the girls have been friends off and on as girls do but then the leader tells my daughter who is crying by this point "what is your problem and what do you want me to do to make it all better" and my daughter sees that her leader is angry says "Nothing" and her leader says well "Nothing is what I'm going to do" and if your mother wants to stay home and not come to the next booth and do nothing" that's fine too" she is screaming by this point. WHAT THE HELL?! Where is this crap coming from? Why is she attacking me and my kids when I have personally done nothing but try to help her out all year? My daughter and her daughter were having a spat as they've done in the past and worked it out but now her mom is attacking my daughter for being upset and attacking my son for bringing a kindle to keep busy which is something he's done for months and now its a problem?! And then accusing me of trying to take over her troop? So I politely and very calmly told her (even though I wanted to scream back) that if she has a problem with me or my children and feels that it is necessary to attack us for no reason that I would finish out the year and be done once the year concludes. We get outside to my vehicle and she walks to my truck and points her finger at my daughter who is now sobbing into my side and I am trying to comfort her. Tells my daughter "Yeah your mommy is going to mommy coddle you and this whole mess is all your fault and if I lose my friend and helper, I hope your happy." what kind of person treats a child like that? What kind of leader and example is this? Seriously? We had the Powder Puff Derby for the troops this past weekend and we had a chili cook off which was judged by local firemen. One of the fire men's wives attended with their children and while we hadn't said it was time to eat, she and her children ate. My daughters leader makes the comment to this wife "Well don't we think we've got special privileges today?" OMG I was so embarrassed. But its comments like this we deal with all he time
