My real charger broke and I have a kindle touch charger that fits without having to force it in.It charges fine, but I was wondering if it's gonna hurt my phone or blow it up.
I have an HTC Inspire and a Kindle touch, using the kindle's charger for my phone, if that helps.

The Go To feature on my Kindle Fire HD does not work?
This is the feature that you can click on inside a book, and then you can choose to go to the cover, different chapters, the appendix, etc.
It is grayed out, as if it has been turned off or disabled.
Any ideas?

My Kindle Fire's Internet Isn't Working?
So today I was using my Kindle Fire and I tried to open up Google to look something up. When I searched, however, all my kindle showed was a blank screen. I clicked the home button and Google flashed for a fraction of a second, but when it was opened up again it still showed a blank screen. Can you please tell me how to fix this? Thank you in advance.

Why won't my kindle fire 1st generation charge?
I lost my first charger that came with the package, so i bought a new one that can charge to the computer and the wall. I plugged it into the wall and came back after 15 minutes, and it still said, "please wait 15 minutes then turn it on again" so i waited an hour and it said the same message.
what is going on? i don't want anything to happen to my kindle!

Do I own my Kindle books or does Amazon?
This is something I've always been sceptical about when I'm buying an e-book from Amazon. Yes, it stays in your digital library on your account, but does that mean they're still under Amazon rulership, and guidelines? Also, since it's (or should be) my property, can I not pass this down after my death? Just a few things for people to think about on the subject surrounding the digital format, I like a good debate.

Only me and my bro is having internet probelms?
My parents laptop and hand held devices have no problem with the internet connection. But me and my brothers computer and hand held devices will connect for like 30 seconds and disconnect and then reconnect. Only on me and my bro stuff not my parents.My parents have two laptops and my dad has a PC. Both have phones and my mom has a kindle fire and my dad has an iPod touch.Me and my bro has PC and phones. I don't understand it. I tried unplugging the router and modem for 30 seconds ands it worked for an hour or two. We just got this internet service and they gave us a modem. How to transfer Kindle Fire books to my pc?
How can I transfer e-books (bought from amazon) from my kindle fire to my computer? I then want to transfer them from my computer back onto my kindle, but to a different account. They are all books that I have purchased from Amazon but from two different accounts, one being mine and the other being my dad's. I want them all onto my account. My dad gave me his Kindle Fire about a year ago. For awhile I was using his amazon account to buy e-books. I eventually created my own accounts and have since purchased several more books. The problem is, is that I now don't have access to those books on my dad's account. I could log in to his account and read them, but I would rather not. How to permanently delete this stubborn.sdr folder from my Kindle Touch?
I've got an old Kindle Touch from last year I want to sell, and I've de-registered it and removed almost everything successfully, but one stubborn.sdr folder remains located inside the 'documents' folder.
I've formatted it via Windows multiple times, and on the Kindle itself there are no files or folders whatsoever, but every time I disconnect and then reconnect the Kindle, the folder reappears when you look at the Kindle via Windows Explorer - how do I permanently get rid of it?

How does this keep happening to my kindle fire?
Every time I tap on wifi and I click on the router I get this unable to connect to Belkin0.92 and then I click on Belkin0.92 and always have to have my mom do and she gets sick of it because she has done 3 times and now it did it again and I'm really frustrated and I don't know what to do ad I don't know how is she gonna react. Would this be a dumb idea for a grade eight valedictorian speech?
At my school you have to basically try out to be the valedictorian, and I have made it past the first round. Now I have to write a rough draft of a speech. I was thinking of using a quote that had a metaphor in it and just relating different things to the metaphor throught the speech. For example, the quote I was using was "The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled." -Plutarch. Would it be stupid to say things like that school is like a bonfire for other reasons, and then give examples of that?

Where to start learning physics?
I'm not very old (14) but i have been doing extremely well in my maths and science classes lately compared to the previous year. And with that i have found i love physics to death. When I'm older i want to become something in to field of science (ideally theoretical/experimental physics or maybe astrophysics) and I'm a fast learner so i thought I'd start reading some physics books/textbooks on my kindle, so far i have a nuclear and particle physics book which i understand but only barely. I want to start form the ground up going from basic physics to one day things like string theory and quantum physics.So where do i start? Any help is appreciated. Thank you for your time

Good names for a supernatural/fantasy novel?
I am working on writing a supernatural/fantasy novel with a Co-author.
I won't give to much information incase any of you happen to one day read it!
Well, its about a Vampire named Bryce. He was turned into a vampire by a lustful, greedy women who had several lovers. She was so selfish she wanted to keep all of them to herself forever no matter the price. Bryce hates being a vampire although he has accepted it…
And a half blood witch named Melanie. Her mother died when she was 8, but not before telling her about vampires, her own powers and other secrets…
At some point they meet.
Now, vampires in this story can only feed on the opposite sex human or vampire.
But they cannot feed from witches… Or can they?.. Mwaha.
Now, there will be a love connection between the two. Whether it kindles, dies, or ends tragically…
There will also be trouble from past secrets, and the super natural/ vampire Rulers or over lords.
Help! I need to figure out some good titles to bring up to my Co-author.

I have to travel to different countries and i need a Guide (lonely planet) for every country i go.
since the books would be too heavy i was thinking of getting a tablet. I would prefer to read on a e-ink tablet like the kindle (also because of the battery life) but i have read some negative reviews about this kind of books on the kindle (maps unreadable, and difficult to navigate and search content/places).
I will also take a notebook with me, so i don't really need a normal tablet like the ipad, i only need it to reed the books, so what would you recommend me?

What can you use and not violate any copyright laws in your novel?
I am getting ready to self-publish a novel to Kindle's Direct Publishing, and I just wanted to absolutely clear up a few things before I did that regarding copyright issues. I have edited my manuscript and have circled all of these "red flags" and am prepared to change them if need be, but if I could leave them in, that would be better.
I know you cannot use lines/direct quotes from a song, book, movie, etc.unless said items are in the public domain (so 1923 and before). However, here's a few things that I am sketchy on for what exactly is allowed and what isn't:
1. Can you use the names of famous people in your novel? For example, can I say my character is reading a book by Stephen King? Or watching the Dr. Phil Show? Or can I say that my character absolutely hates Angelina Jolie's acting?
2. Can I use the name and song title of someone and a movie title? For example, can I say my character is listening to Pink's "Try" on the radio? Or watching "Friday the 13th"?
3. Can I use the title of a book not in the public domain? For example, can I say my character is reading the children's book "Babar" to her kid? Furthermore, can I talk about an analytical interpretation of the book that I learned in college? (This is coming from an experience and an inside joke between me and friends from one of our college English courses where we were learning how to critically analyze literature using different methods such as historical context, psychoanalytical perspectives, colonialism, feminism, etc. Our professor said that the children's book "Babar" was a representation of the French colonization of West Africa in the 1700s, so am I allowed to put that in my novel and not have it violate any copyright laws?)
4. Can I use the name of a sports team? For example, can I say that one of my characters is a professional basketball player for the L. A. Lakers? Or liken someone's actions as being that of a jockey at the Kentucky Derby?
5. Can I use the name of a real newspaper? For example, can I say that one of my characters works for the L. A. Times?
6. Can I use the names of historical people? For example, Jack the Ripper? The Black Dahlia? Hitler?
7. Can I make one of my characters a real person from history? For example, say this was a vampire novel and I wanted to make one of my main character vampires a real person from history. This person is not exceedingly well known, he is a Highwayman from the 1600s who was executed and buried in Covent Garden, but he has been the subject of several famous artists and paintings.So can I use his real name, or do I have to change the name?
8. Can I use the brand name of a motorcycle and car? For example, can I say that one of my characters rides a Diavel Dark by Ducati, or drives a Honda Prius? Or my character feels like they got run-over by a Mack Truck?
9. Can I use brand names of alcohol, food, etc? For example, can I say my character is drinking a Budweiser? Or eating a Big Mac from McDonald's?
10. Can I use the real name of a restaurant and it's famous chef? For example, can I say that my characters are eating at Wolfgang Puck's steakhouse restaurant CUT?
11. Can I use an author's name and book and talk about events that happened due to the book? For example, can I say that John Polidori's short story "The Vampyre" caused a sensation in the early 1800s and can I use the names of his characters and facts from the story to further exemplify the behavior of the people at that time (here is the line from my novel: "Polidori's story offered no amount of detail on the death of the young female, and while Abigail and every other reader had naturally assumed that Lord Ruthven had sex with Aubrey's sister before draining her dry, they had more than likely believed it was a romantic, consensual night of passion as opposed to an evil act of violation.")?
12. Can I use an offhanded reference to a well known movie/book? For example, can my character say something like, "Much in the way of Obi Wan's droid trick."? Or liken a character to Renfield from "Dracula"?
13. Can I use the name of a video game? For example, can I say that my character plays World of Warcraft and is engrossed in the latest version and is intrigued by playing as a giant panda?
I know this sounds tedious and that I really don't know what I'm doing, but I am just merely wanting to cover my butt and not end up getting sued and I am quadruple checking my options and this is my last stop.So please, no snarky comments, just answer my questions honestly and accurately (and if you could number your responses to fit with my numbering, that would be great too)! I appreciate any and all help, so thank you in advance!

(This is coming from an experience and an inside joke between me and friends from one of our college English courses where we were learning how to critically analyze literature using different methods such as historical context, psychoanalytical perspectives, colonialism, feminism, etc. Our professor said that the children's book "Babar" was a representation of the French colonization of West Africa in the 1700s, so am I allowed to put that in my novel and not have it violate any copyright laws?)
4. Can I use the name of a sports team? For example, can I say that one of my characters is a professional basketball player for the L. A. Lakers? Or liken someone's actions as being that of a jockey at the Kentucky Derby?
5. Can I use the name of a real newspaper? For example, can I say that one of my characters works for the L. A. Times?
6. Can I use the names of historical people? For example, Jack the Ripper? The Black Dahlia? Hitler?
7. Can I make one of my characters a real person from history? For example, say this was a vampire novel and I wanted to make one of my main character vampires a real person from history. This person is not exceedingly well known, he is a Highwayman from the 1600s who was executed and buried in Covent Garden, but he has been the subject of several famous artists and paintings.So can I use his real name, or do I have to change the name?
8. Can I use the brand name of a motorcycle and car? For example, can I say that one of my characters rides a Diavel Dark by Ducati, or drives a Honda Prius? Or my character feels like they got run-over by a Mack Truck?
9. Can I use brand names of alcohol, food, etc? For example, can I say my character is drinking a Budweiser? Or eating a Big Mac from McDonald's?
10. Can I use the real name of a restaurant and it's famous chef? For example, can I say that my characters are eating at Wolfgang Puck's steakhouse restaurant CUT?
11. Can I use an author's name and book and talk about events that happened due to the book? For example, can I say that John Polidori's short story "The Vampyre" caused a sensation in the early 1800s and can I use the names of his characters and facts from the story to further exemplify the behavior of the people at that time (here is the line from my novel: "Polidori's story offered no amount of detail on the death of the young female, and while Abigail and every other reader had naturally assumed that Lord Ruthven had sex with Aubrey's sister before draining her dry, they had more than likely believed it was a romantic, consensual night of passion as opposed to an evil act of violation.")?
12. Can I use an offhanded reference to a well known movie/book? For example, can my character say something like, "Much in the way of Obi Wan's droid trick."? Or liken a character to Renfield from "Dracula"?
13. Can I use the name of a video game? For example, can I say that my character plays World of Warcraft and is engrossed in the latest version and is intrigued by playing as a giant panda?
I know this sounds tedious and that I really don't know what I'm doing, but I am just merely wanting to cover my butt and not end up getting sued and I am quadruple checking my options and this is my last stop.So please, no snarky comments, just answer my questions honestly and accurately (and if you could number your responses to fit with my numbering, that would be great too)! I appreciate any and all help, so thank you in advance!

Will Amazon be able to tell if I have pirated files on my Kindle?
Let's say my friend has a few pdf books and journal articles on his computer that he got by just fishing around with google and for which he has not payed anything for.
Supposing he converts them to a kindle compatible format (AZW3) and transfers it to his Kindle, will Amazon be able to detect that it is something for which he has not payed for and is pirated? Will he get in trouble for this?
My friend would really appreciate an answer very much

I have some pdf format books and journal articles on my computer that I have converted to a Kindle compatible format and transferred to my Kindle. However I may not have gotten these pdf's in the most legal fashion. I googled and got some of them from the internet without paying.

Kindle or paperback? Which do you prefer?
Which do you prefer? I'm thinking about getting a Kindle of my Birthday, because I think its so much easier then the paperbacks. Especially when their in your school bag, and the cover has a load of tears.

How is the Kindle (ebook reader) for travel guides?
Im planing to travel and i have to take some Lonely Planet guides with me.since the books are too heavy im thinking of buying a Kindle 6" (with no touch screen).
Would you recommend it for this kind of books???
Or is it complicated/slow to navigate thru the pages (can it turn over only one page at time, what if i have to go quickly to a specific chapter or page, how is the navigation?)

I can't figure out how to open my Kindle books?
A friend emailed me Kindle files. On my desktop it doesn't read as a Kindle file, and when I select the option to open it was a Kindle book (I downloaded Kindle for Mac), it won't work. I can't move the files from my desktop to my Kindle because the file won't even open. I have done this before so I'm confused. Suggestions?

Can I install iOS on my Kindle Fire HD?
I love my kindle. But sadly it cannot sync with my iphone or apples amazing apps. I got the kindle for Christmas last year. I was wondering if there's a program to root the kindle, install iOS, and make a computer regognize it as an iPad mini? Or if I should just sell it and get an iPad mini?

Kindle assistance, really needed?
It might be due to my cheapness, I don't really know. But my very first kindle I bought was a refurbished keyboard for about $75 from amazon.it lasted about 9 months, and then the screen broke.It had a case, but it was $2.amazon was gracious enough to send me a replacement, which came with 3g and wifi which my previous one didnt have. All I had to do was package and send mine back.that kindle lasted 5 months.So, should I just buy a $30 case and stick it in a binder case? I think my problem was I keep it in my backpack and I don't put it down nice enough.

Hey, I've just seen on my kindle that I can borrow books from the lending library that amazon kindle store provide however it says for prime members. I've been looking everywhere to understand what being a prime member is and whether I am one or not.Do you automatically become an amazon prime member if you've bought a kindle device? Ebay Tablets vs name brands?
Hi All,
I was thinking of buying a tablet for my son, hes only 10 so I dont really need to spend too much on one. But would make sense to add that little extra if Im going to get a more durable and reliable hardware. Currys price £100-150 compared to Ebay £50-70. I know you get what you pay for and if I was buying for myself I would easily get a more expensive one but for my son who will only be playing games and watching vids?
My question is how long do you think an ebay tablet would last for with all the updates Google does with its apps? For example, samsung and kindles are big names so would have money for ongoing customer support and updates to the hardware and software.As you know Google apps are forever updating so how would this work with a cheap tablet.
If a small company are just making mass tablets for a quick sale im thinking they may not care 3 months down the line if it is not compatible with Google updates going forward?
Have I made sense? lol

I'm really scared for my dog. He's been coughing for more than two weeks now and everytime he does it, it scares me.My parents won't take him to the vet no moatter how many times I ask them to. They keep making up excuses like, "We don't have the money for a vet." I appreciate the genorousity you have for me, but I don't appreciate the treatment that you give to my dog. Charging on Kindle Fire not working?
I was charging my kindle fire one night overnight with a usb charger and it stopped charging in the morning. I turned it on, and the Kindle Fire was dead. Tried to put it in charger and it wouldn't charge. Moved the charger around and for a split second it charged then stopped. After that it has only charged once where I moved it to that certain spot and it worked, but since I have tried the same thing and it shows the green light in the certain spot but not the orange light.Is it dirty? Is there a way to fix? I think it may be a loose charging port. I have tried different chargers too. And PLEASE don't tell me to buy a new one because I have talked to amazon, and they only said I could buy a new one for like 15 dollars off, and I can't afford over 100 dollars. Also are there any unofficial places you can repair a Kindle Fire?

My friend has been putting thoughts into my head basically he said excessive masturbation can cause you balls to become really tiny and weaken sperm count n u wont be able to ever have kids even if u balls get big again but it will take ages for u body to catvch up again which means many months not masturbating at all he also said excessive masturbation can trigger not cause but trigger u face to swell up n pain if u got or had a dental abscess especially if u prone to illness because u got a bad diet or unfit and he said the mucus turns to pus in u mouth and before that it was the ejaculation just converted since its in a different part of u body he says he creates a flu and when u abscess is ok u might feel sick instead cause its now travelled to u head n u might throw up and the more u masturbate the worse it gets gotta lay off it but sometimes it might cause an advers effect is he just talkin rubbish or tryin scare me it is weird cuz he is pretty clever im on kindle excuse poor spelling

I say this cause everytime that happend i would feel pus in my mouth and it got inflammed and my face swelled and i had an abscess not the first time either my friend said its in your saliva travels to u mouth and the sweet pus whch was the ejaculation converted into pus since now in my mouth it causes it to clog and the sweetness develops inflammed and turns into abscess is any of this true excuse my spelling i am using the kindle with the lagging processor cuz it so small
