Borrow books using amazon prime?

I have amazon student prime membership and now I want to borrow a book in my kindle. I can find the owner's pending library but when I find the desired book and click "borrow for free", a box comes out says "you can borrow with amazon prime… ". Kindle Fire Device Help Needed?

I recently bought a Kindle Fire Fire from a friend. Its registered, account, and payment info is to some other dude. I want to change it to my card so I can purchase things and I have no idea how. I was also curious if you can change the name in the upper left hand corner where it has whoever's Kindle. I'm not wanting to "deregister" the device. Any help would be greatly appreciated. How to avoid the YA pitfall?

When I ask this question, I don't mean to be offensive to anyone who enjoys Young Adult writing. I read it on occasion too, so I'm not trying to spread hate for it.

I have noticed something in most recent works of writing lately. We all know that human beings like to find others who share similar interests, and when many people have a similar interest then it lumps together into a trend until all creativity is wrung from it until the once-engaging idea is little more than a useless sponge.

Now, we are all guilty of this in some way, and most people who oppose against it are merely called hipsters (but now being a hipster is now cool). Well, I'm focusing more on how people do this with writing, and I feel that YA is one of the biggest offenders of this.

Whenever a YA work is released and is considered "ground-breaking", suddenly the media reacts. Take "Twilight" for example. Have you ever tried to look at a YA section in a Barnes and Noble and see how long it would take before you see some Vampire love story? Yes, forbidden love is exciting to some. But then you get this overwhelming wave of these vanilla books, and suddenly it's all very predictable (if it wasn't predictable before).

More tragically, at least to me, is what happened to "The Hunger Games". I always liked The Hunger Games because it was a compelling story… but forget it now. Now the YA bookshelves are swarmed with the latest dystopian novels. Now, if that's what's trending, then okay, I guess give the public what they want… But where's the inspiration? It's all copy, edit, paste with these books. I recently read "Under The Never Sky" and I was startled by the similarities. What's the point of writing a book like that? Is there any? For money? For fame? Where's the passion?

If this doesn't seem like a big deal, then read something I picked up on my kindle for the S&G for a buck.It's called "Born" by Tara Brown.In the end, the sheer idiocy (and I hate mocking literature. I won't even say anything bad about Twilight, which I didn't exactly enjoy, but seriously, "Born" is the worst piece of literature I have ever experienced) actually made it worth the dollar because of the entertainment I got out of making fun of it.

Now, here's my point. I want to write a story one day. I don't exactly need it (or even truly desire it) to be successful. I just want to put a story out there that means something to be, and maybe it could mean something to someone else too. But I fear that since the protagonist is young (He's around 24 years old) it would be lumped in with the rest of the YA group, and then will be completely, entirely ignored.So far in the current draft, there is some smut involved, but not entirely too much.

What else can I do to separate it from YA?

I found a kindle fire and I don't know who it belongs to?

So my friend found a kindle fire at her hair salon and called everybody that was there for the past 3 days and nobody said it was theirs. Nobody's called her or anything about it either. And it's password protected so we can't get onto it and see who's it is. We could do a reset but I'd rather not delete everything on it because I don't know what's on it.So can we call amazon or something and find out who it belongs to? I'm not really sure what to do.

My horrible memories are coming back?

The Mumbai gang-rape of a 22-year old photo journalist has by far been one of the worst cases I have come across. I was molested last month myself. The trauma of that event is still fresh in my head.My perpetrator pinched my right breast with all the strength his ugly hands could weasel and threatened me that he would call his friends, villagers, and the police and gang-rape me. But I managed to get out of there alive and in one piece. And when I read about this incident, it kindled those horrible memories in my head. What is our pretentious Indian society of patriarchy heading towards? Why have our men turned into demons? Why do we hate our women? Why can't we breathe in peace? At this moment, I can fully relate to that poor girl. I wish I could just hold her hand and comfort her, and probably seek some comfort for myself too. I feel like crying.

Can I access McDonald's WIFI if they are closed?

I am working a double shift, and was hoping to play a game on my Kindle Fire to get me through the lulls.It is internet based, but as long as it's loaded, I can play it with no internet connection. My Kindle Fire Won't Load Videos?

My Kindle Fire hasn't been working that well lately when it comes to Youtube videos.It'll play them sometimes, but whenever I try to watch a video while it's being charged it'll stay at the loading screen and not advance. Why does my Kindle 3 still loose battery when it's turned off?

I usually just fully charge my Kindle then turn it off. And then a couple weeks later the battery is completly drained when I haven't even used it! Why does this happen? I've tried turning off the wifi before and then turning it off but it still looses all of its battery when its off. This is really annoying and is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

How to get Rid of Free Download Manager?

Everytime I try to download something, like the amazon kindle app and skype, on my computer, I get taken to this page that has a blue arrown pointing down and right next to it says, "Download was transferred to Free Download Manager" "Please use "Back" button go back". I also get an error message saying FDM wasn't properly installed and blah blah blah. I tried deleting any shady software from my computer, and I still don't know what's the problem. Any suggestions?

It started off with me not being able to open any of my kindle books. And now I can't go on the home screen or settings. All that works is the shopping area. How to get past the first level of customer service at amazon.com?

I'm trying to resolve a problem with my Kindle. Every time I contact them, I get a different customer service rep with a different solution, none of which has worked. How do I get to the folks who can actually help me?
Added (1). The Kindle works fine. The problem is that I somehow ended up with two amazon accounts under the same email address, but with different passwords. Customer service claimed to have fixed it, but when my first Kindle died and I replaced it, all the old content disappeared.It's not in the cloud, not in archives. Three different customer service reps have recommended three different solutions. Nothing has worked so far. I need to move up the chain to someone who can actually help me.

The Akward Adventures of the Terribly Shy Maria at College

So, I decided to take two classes at community college this semester, and registered only a week beforehand (It was a very last minute decision). I have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is where I will chronicle my awkwardness, so that perhaps someone can understand my situation or humor themselves with my epic failures at socializing like a normal human being.

Monday, Day 1

English Class

The classroom is small. There is a person in every chair, but no one I know. I spend my time trying not to look awkward by drawing birds on a spare note card or checking my phone, making sure to not look up and accidentally make eye contact with someone. There are two guys on either side of me, which unsettles me and I try to refrain from seeing them in my peripherals. I spend the entire class listening to the teacher, looking down at my notes, and nodding my head. When I am forced to introduce myself, I forget to say what school I'm from, and skip straight to the "interesting fact about myself." I decide to go with "My family owns five horses." It was the only thing I can think of, but I realize I might come off as a kiss-butt now; the teacher already said she owned a horse. When I turned my paper in near the end of class, she asked me what kind of horses I have. Somehow I knew this was going to happen, but my mind goes blank. "Uh, they're mostly ponies, but one is a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse, but we don't ride much anymore." Her reply was just a small, polite smile, a nod of the head, and "Yeeaah… " I felt incredibly stupid. I knew I knew what kind of horses I had, but I was so afraid of telling her the wrong thing, that I told her the only thing I did know, which came off as sounding slightly fabricated. When we were dismissed, I asked her where the snack bar was in an attempt to re-kindle some part of our imaginary bond.

Wednesday, Day 2

English Class

We are in a new classroom today. We are forced to exchange papers and write things for the other person to improve on, then discuss it with them afterward. The person directly in front of me is searching for someone to exchange with, but she's not looking at me. I ask if she would like to exchange papers, to which she replies with a "Sure." We exchange papers silently, and I get to trying to find something wrong in her paper. She did well and I could only find two minor things, so when I'm done, I just say "This was all I could find," and hand her her paper. She looks at her paper briefly and then goes back to writing something on mine, then hands my paper back. I read over what she said and just said "Okay," because I really didn't know what else to say. I sat there in silence for moments, then she asked someone else to exchange papers with her.At this point I started looking around the room, hoping to see someone needing a partner. The red head next to me asked if anyone needed to trade papers again, and I raised my hand, but she only glanced at me momentarily before trading with someone else. The guy in front of her, who reminded me of Sinjin from Victorious, was looking around, so I asked if he wanted to trade. We exchanged the papers and started doing revisions. Afterwards, I handed his paper back, and he said that the first person had pretty much "said it all" on mine. I said "Okay," then stood there, trying to think of something to discuss or say. He stood there also, hesitantly and obviously wondering why I was standing there, and whether he should sit back down or not.It was obvious I was not going to think of anything to talk about and that I was causing him discomfort, so I gave a half-hearted "Heh," and made my awkward departure back to my seat.
Added (1). @Sweettooth Jr: Quite alright.To be honest, they don't really bother me, however I do wish more people liked to read books and things, or at least explain why they wouldn't read this. A simple "no" doesn't really tell me anything. I'd much rather hear constructive criticism. I'm not looking for all "yes'," either.

Youtube website will no longer work on my kindle fire, anyone know why?

For about a week or so now I have gone onto the YouTube site but it won't let me watch anything. Before that it would take me to the mobile site and I would have no problem watching videos. Does anyone know why I can't get onto the mobile site anymore? Try as I might I can't get onto the mobile site, even if I've bookmarked a page on the site, it won't let me go on it :( it takes me to the home page of the normal site and I can't watch anything on that :(

Frozen Kindle Assistance Please?

Got a kindle keyboard, I just prefer the physical keyboard for only reading. I had it for about nine months and the screen recently froze/broke.

Now I tried hard resetting it and this time I got a message that was partially obscured by the screen, it said something along the lines of "for assistance in resetting/fixing your kindle, here is the # to call "1-206-266-09** I wasn't able to see the last two digits, and I'm wondering if someone knows the full telephone number by any chance.

Please don't tell me to get another kindle, I am so done with them this is by third keyboard and its a piece of crap, I'm going to purchase a Nook+ 16GB which costs less then the kindle keyboard when I originally bought it, with a brighter screen and an option to add more storage.the kindle app can be added to the nook, and the nook can also be rooted, but I want to fix the kindle keyboard and give it to my sister as a present, she likes to read.

I live in India and I want to buy the Kindle Paperwhite, here in India it costs around Rs.14, 000.
However in the U. S.it costs $119 (= Rs.7497).So, is it better to get it purchased by my relatives who live in the U. S. and let them bring it here for me, or to buy it here itself?

Are there any games I should get?

I am currently receiving parts for my PC I am building, and I was wondering, what are some good PC games to get. I am talking about PC only/optimized games. I already have Minecraft, GMod, and ArmA 2: Combined Operations, but are there any other games that either have a lot of good mods, have ways to change the textures, or just play very well on the PC? Paul tells us that the journey of the Israelites through the wilderness is as an example for us 1 corinthians 10 1-6, then when we complain and insist on special rights are we not displeasing the Lord God also?

Hey I am a junior in high school, and I feel like my education is poor because there were times In Elementary school and middle school were I didn't make the best grades, and I have been making good grades so far through my high school career, and have a good GPA, and plan to go to college to become a scientist, and I feel like my education is poor in the following areas, social studies, Politics, and Economics, and I feel like I don't know everything about science, and I feel like I have poor grammar and writing skills sometimes, will reading books help me learn everything my poor grades back then caused for me to miss out on? if so, what books will help improve my knowledge of these subjects? I know now days people buy and read books off kindles and iPad's, and I have an iPad.

I am thinking of getting a Kindle Fire HD 8.9. Is it as good as an Ipad?

Does it have as much power and as easy to use? I have a Nook Color and it won't download apps anymore. I got with B&N, and we went all the way to factory settings, started over, and it downloaded for about 2 hours! Then gave out again.So going Kindle or Ipad this time.

How to get rid of silk on kindle fire?

I do not know how this happened but Silk seems to be my browser now on my kindle fire. Cansomeone please provide a walkthrough before I chuck this bloody thing at the wall? I hate the Silk thing on here… many thanks ;D

Kindle wifi problem - not accepting passcode?

I have just changed my home broadband provider and can no longer connect my Kindle touch to the wifi. The router has a WPS button but the Kindle is not accepting this. The router has a password but the Kindle will not accept a password either. There is no other info with the router, eg WEP key.
Can you offer any solutions for this please?

Embrace Christianity and relish in the unearthly delight pain has to offer. Submit and there are no limits to the torment you subject yourself to, don't fight it because it will rip your soul apart.

How hard is it to learn japanese?

I"m starting sophomore year of high school and not doing sports so i have a lot of free time after school. I took 2 years of Spanish and did well (A,B) but after watching tons of Anime and learning more about Asian culture (Heck what am i saying I'm Laos my self) And just wondering how hard is it to learning Japanese. I"m not gonna learn the written yet because its 50, 000 symbols ya gotta learn and everyone just says its way easy to learn Japanese. Also does anyone know any good apps on the Kindle Fire that teach it? or where i can learn it.

Trying to transfer files on Kindle Fire?

I got a Kindle Fire just yesterday (first gen., not HD). I had one before but it was stolen so I bought another one. The thing is, it's been MAJORLY changed and updated since the last time I used one, and I'm unable to transfer files from my computer to my Kindle.In the notifications it says "Connected as Media Device", and it's charging fine, but when I try to transfer my music/e-books to it, it doesn't register. I have a PC, which operates on Windows 7, and back in 2012 when I had my first Kindle Fire, there was no problem transferring files. Now, I can't transfer any of my files to my Kindle. Can anyone help me, please?
