I am extremeley careful about my Kindle Fire and i don't want it to melt because it was left charging, even though it was fully charged. I want to know if the Kindle Fire automatically stops charging when it's fully charged.

Kindle Fire Will Not Charge, And Has No Light?

It had been having problems charging (sometimes charging, and sometimes not), but at this point it's completely stopped. I plug it in, and absolutely nothing happens.It doesn't charge, no sort of light comes on, nothing. I've tried it with another charger and it worked right once, then had less than half it's battery after I charged it continually overnight, then nothing. I've also tried the hard reset. Does anyone know of any other solution to this?

File transfers between Kindle Paperwhite and SD Cards?

I was thinking of ways to use an external SD card reader and a USB cable, and maybe some adapters, to increase the storage capacity of my Kindle Paperwhite. I'd prefer to avoid using a computer as an intermediary, if this is possible.

My idea is to begin with my Kindle Paperwhite and a cheap SD card reader, the kind where you stick the SD card in on one side, and a male USB A-type connection (the wide kind) sticks out the other side.

How would you go from that male USB connection coming out of the SD card reader to the USB input port of the Kindle Paperwhite?

Would this actually work? Could files be transferred back and forth between the Kindle and the SD card this way, without even needing a computer?

Should I wait to buy this tablet?

So I just sold my old kindle fire for about $90(great deal lol) and I was looking into these chinese brand tablets. They're faster, and cheap! So there's this tablet called the Sanei N78 (link below), and it is soooo much faster and it looks so nice, plus the price is really cheap! My problem is that there's another tablet called the Ainol Novo 7 Dragon(link below) which is just as good, but it has a quad core CPU and a lower screen resolution. Obviously quad core is faster, but it has been sold out the past few days. This is the only website where I can get it this cheap. And the sale on the Sanei tablet is ending in 2 days so it will go from $89 to $100. I like to play games on it and go on Skype(which they both do). I even bought a keyboard case so a little typing. They both have a Quad Core GPU so graphics are good.So should I wait longer or should I just get this tablet instead?

I purchased and downloaded a textbook, Campbell biology 9th, yesterday on my kindle app for ipad. When I click on the book to open it, the app shuts itself down. I have about $170 dollars and I want a camera and good apps and good browsing.My friend is selling his iPad 1st gen for $150 except it has a little glitch, every once and a while the screen will have lines going through but you just turn it off and hit it and it fixes, otherwise the tablets in great condition but has no cameras. How to not cut deep and I don't think I'm strong enough to stop?

I should have gotten stitches on almost all my cuts on my legs. Big gashes all over my legs, but now they are scars. I've cut into fat many times. I've gone to the hospital once for some band aids on a cut.

So I don't think I can't cut, so I was wondering how to NOT cut deep?

And I told my girlfriend that I would stop for her, and *** is totally worth it to stop. But I just don't think I'm strong enough to stop. I know many coping skills and either have no motivation to try them, or they don't work for me. I pretty much have 2 coping skills, my kindle and pets. They work for me, but I can't do it all the time.

Advice on publishing a book or ebook? (Long)?

I was wondering if someone out there could give me some advice.
I've been writing books with the intention of getting them published one day since I was about twelve. I've finally come close to completing one that I am happy with, and I would like to get it published. The problem is, I don't have a clue how to go about it. I have always thought that when I finally had a book ready, I would try to get it published the normal way. I didn't anticipate the popularity of ebooks. I'm personally not too keen on them as I feel they're killing off normal books (don't get me wrong, I am definitely not anti-technology. I just feel cheated by the idea of paying for a book and not getting… Well, a book.)
Anyway, it seems the way to go now, especially for new authors, is the ebook. But I haven't got a clue how to go about publishing in that format.
I was told by a friend just now that you only receive about 35% of the price of your book from Amazon. That seems an absolute rip-off considering they don't have much to do.Is this true?
I don't have a Kindle or any other type of ebook reader.Is it necessary to have one?
Which company should I choose to go with?
Another very big question that has been bothering me for sometime. How do I stand on the copyright situation? I may want to do something else with my characters later on.Do I hold the copyright on both them and my story no matter what? As I understand it, under UK law (and apparently it's the same in most counties?), books are considered a form of art and are therefore protected automatically under copyright laws to the author.Is this correct?
I write all my books in word documents in Microsoft Word (at least at the moment).Is this the correct format, or do I need to copy it into some other specialist ebook thing?

I got a kindle fire for my birthday over a week ago and I have had issues since then with the screen. When I try to look at the details of a book, the page freezes and never loads. I think this would be a great thing for me to explain the Qur'an for you and to let you know the truth and real versus. Not the made up ones by non-Muslims. If you don't agree then i am concerned that how do you know Islam is violent and terrorism? Where did you get this information from? China's new leader - reformist or conservative?

BEIJING (Reuters) - When Xi Jinping became the new leader of China's Communist Party two months ago, hopes were high for reform in the giant nation. But despite what appears to be sensitive handling of a strike by journalists and a challenge to Beijing's tight control of the press, signs of change seem tentative.

Xi's commitment to reform, or lack of it, will come into sharper focus over the next few months, in particular after he officially assumes the presidency in March at a session of the National People's Congress, the country's rubber-stamp parliament.

Among the key signposts that analysts say could give Chinese citizens and global investors a sense of the new government's commitment to change: whether the resolution of a standoff at a prominent newspaper leads to an easing of press restrictions; whether the government moves quickly to address the rights of China's migrant workers; and whether Xi follows through on ending the country's notorious "re-education through labour" camps.

Xi himself has fanned expectations of change with rhetoric about "national rejuvenation," vows to crack down on corruption and a down-to-earth public style that stands in contrast to the remote, forbidding demeanour of his predecessors.

From a trip to Guangdong province akin to Deng Xiaoping's famous "southern tour" in 1992 - which re-ignited China's economic opening - to a speech calling for the rule of law in mid-December on the 30th anniversary of China's constitution, Xi has kindled hopes that he might pursue a broad swathe of reforms -- economic, legal and political.

"It is evident that the new leaders want to get things done and have done things differently from previous administrations," said a source with close ties to the leaders.

But to date, for all the ostensible desire for change, Xi and the new leaders have precious little to show for it. China has one of the most regimented political systems in the world, and the writ of the Communist Party remains supreme.

At the November party congress in which Xi and his team were officially unveiled, there was talk of reform. But maintaining stability was the over-arching theme.

Xi's defenders argue that expectations of swift, significant change are premature. His prime minister, Li Keqiang, doesn't officially form a government until the parliament session in March.

For now, ambiguity prevails. "In intellectual debate, both the left and the right, conservatives and liberals, think Xi Jinping will be on their side", says Cheng Li, a China expert at the Brookings Institution.

"But in half a year, or one year, I think one group will be disappointed."

Sceptics say there are few convincing signs of even impending change.

"There is a scent of this (reform). Everyone has detected the aroma. But if you ask, is there really rain? Is there really wind? I don't think so," said Chen Ziming, an independent political commentator in Beijing.

ONE GLIMMER

Resolving the strike at the Southern Weekly newspaper in Guangdong, one of China's most respected and liberal, provided a glimmer of reform even as it was clouded in uncertainty.

The protest was against Propaganda Ministry officials who allegedly rewrote an editorial the paper had prepared that called on the government to respect the rights of individuals under China's constitution into one that praised the party.

Sources told Reuters that after the intervention of new Guangdong party secretary Hu Chunhua, the situation was resolved with an agreement from the Propaganda Ministry that it would no longer censor the paper's articles before they are published.

Some analysts believe the decision is an isolated one and holds little long-term significance. But if the agreement holds, it will be a step toward loosening what has been a suffocating censorship regime.

It is unlikely Hu acted without at least the party Politburo's tacit awareness.To what extent, if any, the Southern Weekly episode might herald a somewhat more independent press will now be scrutinised intensely.

Kindle paperwhite is constantly loading and then shuts off?

I've only had the thing for a few weeks. All of a sudden it says it's "loading" and the loading bar shows two to five times and then sometimes it just shuts off and I have to start all over again. Other times it asks me for my pass code, then loads, then asks me for the code again. When I finally get to my books I'll be able to read for a few minutes then it loads and loads once again then shuts off. Very frustrating. Anybody know any quick fixes for this problem?
