How to sell Kindle Fire on Ebay?

Hi! So I have this Kindle Fire (ironically I'm typing on it) and it's gotten to the point where the charging port is all ****** up and I'm ready to sell this thing. But I'm not totally sure on whether it's a 1st gen or 2nd gen (it's not an HD, just a regular Fire…)?

So…

1) How can I tell if it's a 1st gen. Or 2nd gen?

2) How should I package it so I can sell it (box dimensions, materials to put inside the box to protect it. Stryafoam pellets? Bubble wrap? Etc.) because I don't want it to break during the shipping process.

I already worked out the details with selling it on Ebay, it's just the shipping that I'm concerned about, and would really appreciate some tips/help, because this is my first time selling online. Thanks! :)

KINDLE PROBLEM! SEARCH BAR KEEPS POPPING UP?!

The search bar on my kindle keyboard 3G keeps popping up at the bottom (often it seems as though i'm holding down the "C" button, although I'm not. Also, my delete button suddenly stopped working…). This is getting really frustrating. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you so much!
Added (1). Something tells me that sticky keys aren't my problem, so I may have to replace my kindle. However, if anyone has a solution to the search bar problem I have, please answer! Thank you!

Can't open desktop kindle app?

When I click on it my cursor displays the hourglass for a few seconds like it's going to open, but then nothing happens.

Not used it in a while so not sure when it stopped working, but I have some ebooks in there that I don't want to have to pay to download again.

Any idea how to fix?

Added (1). I own many books, but I travel and weight can be an issue. I was thinking to get an the Amazon Paperwhite and "transfer" some of my books to an electronic version. Is there any way to do this?

Eyes have trouble adjusting from close to far away?

My eyes have been giving me problems for a good 6 months. I have glasses and I have an astigmatism in my right eye. I just recently got new glasses in April and have had problems every since. My eyes when I watch tv or read on my Kindle or phone are fine until I look in a far away distance. They are blurry and look like black snow falling around. Sometimes they are blurry (usually left eye) when reading my phone. Sometimes I will wake up and my right eye will be blurry. My eyes get tired after 3 hours of being up. I have heavy eyelids throughout the day which makes my eyes feel strained. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Seen 2 eye doctors now and was told my tear ducts are clogged causing me dry eyes.

So I'm basically staying up all night on Friday (and Friday is fine) and I want to be able to watch videos when my dad has turned our wireless connection off. What's a good book on baking science/inventing baking recipes from scratch?

I'm looking for a good book (nothing TOO difficult and scientific) that can teach me the how and why of creating baking recipes from scratch.

If I want to write fiction, should I work with novels or screenplays?

I can write both, but I love film. I learned how to write screenplays as a teenager and wrote a number of shorts. I read a lot of novels, too, so I've written a handful of short stories as well.

You could tell me to write both, but I just see a major sweet spot and issue in writing each one.

PRO OF SCREENWRITING: I love dialogue. The lack of description really lets me have fun with the characters.
CON OF SCREENWRITING: The script, no matter how great the story is, is nothing if I cannot sell it. I live in Florida, and have no connections to agents or anyone that could adapt it.
PRO OF NOVEL WRITING: I can self publish to kindle and lulu, and share my work immediately with everyone.
CON OF NOVEL WRITING: I get distracted by introspection and end up writing way too much description. When I cut down on description, I shorten my novel dramatically. Then I get depressed, because I feel like my writing isn't sufficient enough make up 40,000+ words of interesting fiction.

What should I do? I understand it's not going to be easy. I just can't find a way to make these cons less effective. I'd be fine with writing either one, but these cons are MAJOR blocks for me. They always prevent me from completing anything.
