I want to buy a amazon kindle paperwhite 3g. Amazon says it has got free internet. But I have doubts about it, are there any restrictions that one can only visit amazon's or some specific website? Can one download free pdf and read on it? Are only amazon's or some other purchased pdf (ONLY) readable on it? Please tell me about it… And thank you in advance

What kind of story would you pay a dollar to read, adult scifi, or regular scifi?

I plan on writing sme short stories on Amazon, novellettes or something, of the scifi genre. I have an established universe from which to draw these stories from, but that universe is the setting for an adult game. While I have given this universe far more depth than most adult games have, and it is therefore quite usable in a cleaner context, avoiding the adult content when writing a story would take a lot of effort. I'm willing to make this effort, but I want to know, first: if you were browsing your Amazon Kindle for short scifi, would you be more likely to read a clean scifi or an adult one? This will help me decide which to write. Although I will enjoy it, I'm doing it because I need money.

I haven't finished Looking for Alaska yet, but I have finished Perks. The only reason why I want to get Perks on my kindle is because the paperback I have is not in its best condition. I loved the book so I'd like to read it again. I also have read The Outsiders, I loved it too, and I had read it in school so I've never owned the book. I read After (Fanfic) on wattpad before it was published, and I loved that as well, so I would love to have it on my kindle.

I am not interested in reading the twilight series, the hunger games series, or the divergent series. (No hate to any of them but I liked the movies better than the books.

I also already have Pretty Little Liars on paperback, so I won't need the series in my kindle.

If you could help me find any more books to add, I would really appreciate it.

How to delete books off Kindle?

Okay so my Boyfriends mum had all these books on her Kindle and she used Calibre to give them to me to read. Unfortunately they don't work and so I'm trying to delete them off my Kindle but don't know how.

They are NOT Amazon bought books they are just downloaded from a different computer, they have not been purchased so I can't delete them using Amazon.

Is It Normal to Not Get a Lot of Book Reviews on Kindle/Amazon?

I've written a book, and I've only got one review within a year, despite selling at least a few hundred copies.

I feel that if people didn't like the book, they would have let me know by now by ripping a horrible review. I even sent out some free eBook versions to anonymous visitors to a website of mine, and they never left a review either.

Is this normal? I haven't faked any reviews or bought them, nor do I plan to do so. It just kinda stinks how people tend to not review it.

What to do with this boy? I am confused?

Both of us were really busy graduate students while met each other. It was in a competition. After a while he asked me get together, grab food and see how everything is going on. In the first occasion he told me he is going to graduate and seeking someone for future. He seemed to be so serious. He told me he wanna a daughter like me. He also would like to know what I like the most in a husband.
The third time we saw each other he asked me lots of scenarios (whether a person who dated lots of people can be a good parent). He dated 10 girls I just dated 2. He had sex I did not.

Then he sent me an email and says since he is graduating he cannot kindle a relationship but we can be close friends if I would like to since we have same interest and goal in life. After that we spoke with each other and he told me he took it as an insult that I told him someone who dated lots of people cannot be a good parent. He always talk about children, where I wanna to live (I am originally from Middle East), how long after marriage have children and always followed my projects and success. Once he told me he is proud of me. He told me he fears of Middle East.

We broke up after he graduate. He wanna to move to another city in the same State I was interested in long distance one but he was not. He wanted to remain friends I didn't. He texted me several days ago and said have a day full of success! :)
I love him but do not know what to do.

Is it cheaper to buy books or a kindle?

I have started work and get my first wage in a week. I am a huge fan of reading!

I am wondering though. Cos I don't get payed that much this month, only a couple of hundred £.

Is it cheaper to buy books, which I want quite a few atm. Or is it cheaper to buy a kindle?

I know nothing about kindle's- but people have told me it may work out cheaper and better. How much is each book on a kindle? Are they easy to use and is the battery life good?

Can you choose whatever books you want to download on a kindle? Is it worth buying? And can I just search for a book and buy it? I wanna know how much roughly each book costs though. Thank you:)!

How to reset my kindle fire?

So my kindle fire HD goes really slow these days and I have to turn it off and turn it back on all the time. It's nothing to do with the WiFi connection because it's only downstairs in my house but I only get one wife bar my brother has a tablet and we also have a laptop both work fine and so do my family's phones but for some reason my kindle is alwayssss slow I can't watch films or watch videos on YouTube with out it buffering
Is there any way I can reset it without completely wiping my kindle because I don't want to do that any help thanks

i heard recently, due to electronic devices and ebooks through electronic devices like the internet and kindle - that in the future, actual physical paper books will become obsolete / extinct because the electronic versions will take their place?

A good reading app for android?

So i switched from iphone to a galaxys4
On my iphone i had this app which lets me read full books online for free. Its great cause this was the good app which allowed me to read the whole book for free. Now the app is not on the samsung app store so im looking for something similar

Tomorrow I'm flying LAX to Boston, and I was wondering if I could put my Kindle, headphones, and snacks in my pockets or do I need to put them in carry on luggage? I don't want to bring carry on luggage if i don't have to.

My cousin wont stop bragging?!

My sister and cousin and I are probably considered upper-lower class. We all used to live in trailers but then all of us recently got a house. Our house is nice, fairly large and has a pool and doesn't make us seem like we are lower class. My cousin's mom heard about us getting a house and decided she should too. She has a boyfriend, my mom doesn't. So my aunt got help buying her house and got it really cheap because her boyfriend's parents were selling it. It is massive and has like 3 different family rooms alone. It has a massive oval pool and tons of crawl spaces (my cousin mysteriously started to love them right after I mentioned that I like them. The point is my cousin is always bragging subtly that she has an awesome house and that it is so great. Plus she is bragging that she is getting an iPhone5c for Christmas and that she has a kindle. It just makes me so mad because she knows my sister and I don't have the money (provided by our mom alone) to get things like that. It just makes me feel bad and I want to know how to make her stop or realize that it is mean and rude. Thanks so much for everything and I hope that you can understand and put yourself in our place. We are becoming middle class but not as quick as I would hope. Thanks again for everything!

Book recommendations for a teen girl?

I'm going on a trip to Europe soon, so I'm getting some new kindle books to read while there. Any recommendations? I'm a teenage girl, but a lot of my favorite books are adult books, and I wouldn't touch most stereotypical 'teen girl' books with a ten foot pole. I don't mind romance, but I don't like books where romance is the whole plot. I heavily lean towards sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural, but occasionally realistic fiction is okay.
My favorite books are: the Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld, the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, the Riyria Revelations by Michael Sullivan, the Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon, and the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, and the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Things that annoy me in books: -books with a cast of all girls -books with heroins like Maximum Ride, Cammy Morgan, or Clary Fray (AKA whinny and bitchy yet all the other characters still love them for some reason.) I like books with good writing, but good characters trumps all.
Added (1). On the subject of Maximum Ride, Cammy Morgan, and Clary Fray: I know a lot of people like them, but I personally really don't. Sorry if I offended you by saying so, but I needed examples to make a point of my book pet peeves.

Why isn't he interested in Courtship and Marriage?

Okay me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year now. I asked him if he wanted to enter courtship before I start college. I want to know if he has a real interest in marriage or if he's just dating around to see what he likes -- I don't have time for that. College is where you meet new people and kindle relationships, some people come out getting married. I don't want to miss my potential husband because I'm waiting around for someone that still just wants to date around. So I asked him if he wanted to enter courtship… He said **** no at first and I asked him why not? He said not yet. I'm not ready to get tied down. He's 21, I'm 18… I'm not saying he should be tied down now, but it's like dude, in the next 3 - 5 years you would have started your career… What man has time for parties? You would be working. Is it that he doesn't want to marry me? Or is he just not ready? I just want to know if he's in it for marriage or not because everytime I ask, he's so opposed to it, like he even has said he wants to be one of those couples who just date for years and never get married. I'm not into that stuff, my culture isn't into that stuff… And i'm not trying to force my culture into him. Im just wondering if he's worth it or not. Did I mess things up with my crush?

Ok so I've like this girl for a while and last week I asked her some questions on ask fm under both anon and an anon account. I gave myself a techie name and then I had my friend tell her via Facebook to go to a website I set up and basically it explained how I think she's pretty and that I would've taken her to homecoming if I wasn't so shy. Then her friend figured out who I was and so she wanted to talk to me since I said I wanted to get to know her. But her phone us broken so she's been messaging me via kik on her kindle. We talked for two days for like one or two hours each day. I thought it was going well but she didn't reply after she asked me why I decided to do all of this now and I said I didn't know that I just figured I should tell her now that I want to before I got too scared to talk to her again. It's been four days and she hasn't even turned on her kindle because my message is still sending. What do I do? Btw I did comment on one of her instagram pictures to tell her about this app that could've made what she was doing easier and she thanked my friend instead of me and then deleted the post after he corrected her. I don't think my message said anything to offend her. What do I do?

Ok, so I had originally used one of my old accounts to test out skype on the kindle fire. I had signed into another account but after an update skype Now keeps signing into my old account. I sign out and whenever I click/touch on skype it signs me into the old account. How can I sign into another account & uncheck automatic sign-in on the kindle fire?

I don't like the design of skype on the kindle so difficult to find settings or things easily assessable on the computer.

How exactly does an Amazon Rewards Card work?

So my Dad and I have our separate Amazon accounts, but he put in his rewards card on my account so that I could buy books on my Kindle. I want to order something online using the amazon account with his rewards card in it, but I am worried that he will find out. Does it show up in his bank account history or whatever like all the purchases with his regular credit cards do? Why does my kindle have a weird charger?

Its a micro usb connection at one end of the cord, then at the other end is like a headphone jack insert. It comes with this adapter that plugs ibto the headphone jack thingy and the otger end of that is a regular usb connection, and they also provided a usb wall adapter. What the heck? Can someone explain what all those connections are for? The kindle I have doesn't make sound, I have the paperwhite version.

Two weeks ago my wife bought me an Original Kindle Fire (2011). I love this thing. It'll be a year before I figure the whole thing out. I've downloaded documents, TV shows and music. One of the things I downloaded was my resume. Thanks to the economy, I am currently looking for work. Unemployment only goes so far, as you know. Anyway, what I'd like to do is be able to Copy my resume and Paste it onto job application pages on company websites. The User Guide didn't seem to help. I've done with my PC a million times. Can I do it on a Kindle?

Is it absolutely necessary to learn Grammar?

Here's the deal. I used to live in the US ( I am French) for several years and when I came back (4 years ago) I was kind fluent and was able to read and hear English spoken movies without any issues. Of course as years pass, my English is deteriorating mostly because I don't use it anymore and rarely speak English. Therefore I have decided to remedy to that, and setup up so measures to stop this degradation. I now read a lot of novels, I read The Economist and the Wall Street Journal as well as Google News. I started that process about 2 months ago and I feel more confident now in not losing what is left of my fluency in English, I even hope to improve my English writing in the future. However I am extremely lazy and refuse to open an English Grammar book, that apply to vocabulary as well, I do not want to memorize any new English words as I feel it's boring and slows down the pace of my reading. Sometimes if some words appear to be primordial and crucial in the reading of a text, I will exceptionally check with my Kindle dictionary the meaning of them but I tend to avoid doing this. My question is the following one: Do you believe that study grammar is primordial or not? Do you believe that I can get away without memorizing new English words that I find along my reading? How to get books on my computer's kindle app to show up on my kindle fire?

I have some PDF and mobi cookbooks and novels on my computer which all work just fine on the Kindle app but they are not showing up on my Kindle Fire. I've tried syncing but no dice. Is there a way to get these on my Kindle?
Added (1). Artemisc: This does not appear to work for things I did not purchase from Amazon. These are free publications I picked up on other sites. Why do they show on my computer's Kindle reader app but not my Kindle Fire?

Can anybody explain Audible to me?

Because I'm googling it and I've asked other forums with no clear answer.

Do you pay for the subscription and then have to pay a small fee for the books, or do you pay for the subscription and get everything? Because there's this audiobook I'm looking at on Audible and it says $2.99. And in the advertisement, it says something like "Subscribe and get 1 free audiobook!"

Really interested in the service, but not if I have to pay a subscription fee plus the cost of the book itself.

I know this probably sounds like a dumb question, but I remember a cloud video game streaming service that charged a sub fee plus an outrageous rent fee per game.
