I have books on my kindle that I want gone, completely. I go to "manage your kindle" and delete it, but it still shows up in my archives… how do I COMPLETELY remove it?

Using an Apple USB socket with a Kindle Fire HD?

I know the apple wall socket adapters put out sub 5v (3.6?) to mimic computer USB ports but I also know computer USB ports run at 500miliamps whereas the apple wall socket adapters put out twice that.My other half has a Kindle Fire HD and the USB charging cable, what would happen if I used the apple wall socket adapter with the kindle USB charger cable what would happen? Would it charge faster (as the apple products do)? would it charge at the normal kindle slow charge rate? would it damage the Kindle (perhaps it cannot handle the increased amp rating)?

I've read 6 - 300 page books in 5 days alone.
They're all similar to a 50 shades genre but I guess that's beside the point. I'm 14, bordering on 15 and I just finished reading 2 books. I'm not new to reading, I've loved reading my whole life but it's at it's strongest right now.
At the moment, I feel really exhausted (mentally). I already bought and downloaded to my Kindle 2 new books [Gabriel's Inferno and Come Monday] and I'm dying to jump on them but I can't read. Like I said, I'm exhausted.

I've recently decided I would like to buy a tablet and I did a little research and learned that there are a lot more options than I thought. Everywhere I look there doesn't seem to be a clear answer. I'm looking for a general purpose tablet that i can watch movies on, browse the web, access social networks, play casual gaming, and type documents for school. I don't have a preferred platform and I'm open to something new.My price range is under $400 ideally around $300 but the lower the better. I'd prefer a 10 inch screen over the 7 but I can be convinced. I talked to a man at best buy and he suggested the samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 but it seems to have mixed reviews in reliability and lacks in screen resolution and camera specs. I like the remote and voice features though as well as the design. Apple products are pricey and I'm beginning to question whether they are overrated. The google nexus 7 and kindle fire hd also sounded like good choices but in having a hard time deciding in a tablet. What would you suggest with my interests in consideration and other cool features. I'm open to any tablet but trying to reach my requirements. Please help. Thanks!

Hi, I purchased my Kindle Fire about a year ago. I really liked it, but it was a little messed up, almost defective I guess, because all of my friends had it and used it all the time. Water damage to Kindle Fire HD?

I was in the bath reading on my kindle (which was in a plastic wallet) and was being what i thought was careful!
I wasn't :( a little water somehow got into the wallet and onto the screen and then it turned off automatically. I don't know if it turned off because the battery died or if it realised it was damaged.
Is there any hope? It's sitting in a bag of rice at the moment as i read this works wonders?

Which tablet is right for me? - 1

I currently have a pretty simple Acer laptop for my computer/internet work and a smaller "classic" kindle for reading and am pretty happy with both.My challenge is with reading large page documents. If I open them on the kindle, the whole page is shrunk to fit on the screen, and I have to zoom in and scroll around to read it. Reading them on the laptop just isn't comfortable, needing to zoom and scroll and deal with a cumbersome object… it just gets annoying when trying to read a several hundred page document.So which tablet would be most user-friendly for reading documents that were designed for standard 8"x11" paper? A few features I can think of… large screen, USB port, ability to support adobe and word documents, and perhaps even powerpoint. If I'm able to access my kindle e-books and my audible audiobooks, that's a plus. Also a plus if I could use it to access the music and photos from my iPhone 3G, but I imagine the iPad would be my only option for that. The cheaper the better. Thanks!

How bad is second hand smoke?

My mom is a big time smoker and has big time smoker friends. She smokes cigarettes in the house and in the car when driving me to school. I don't smoke as I am a sophomore in high school (and don't plan to), but I know that me inhaling all of the smoke isn't good.

So my question is how bad of an effect does this have on my lungs? This may sound stupid, but are my mom and I both at equal risk for lung cancer (induced by smoking) because I'm inhaling it?

And no, I can't get a ride to school or stay in my room because it's all around the house, and the only TV/computer that I can do my homework on is where she always is, the living room. I can't do my homework on my kindle.

I bought my kindle fire so I could use it for my dual enrollment class when I'm not at a computer. But when I signed in and everything it said "you are not using a supported browser" and won't let me get passed there.

I am a service provider. Some publishers need to convert their printed books to e-Pub format. I read somewhere the Quark 9 has limitations publishing to Kindle format. I believe I can visit Amazon and get it converted. But I look for opinions on which software I should choose. The publisher does not suggest any. Thanks.
Added (1). I got a reply not suiting my question. I believe I need to put more details.

I am NOT looking for PDF conversion. I also won't need to open or use Illustrator. I will be placing the text & pics to create an e-Pub.My question is for this need only. I read Indesign saves for e-Pub format which any digital device can open (iPad, iPhone, Kindle, Samsung, Sony reader etc) whereas with Quark one needs to visit Amazon and get it converted.

This means if I want to work with Quark, I will be submitting two files to the Book Publisher whereas with Indesign, I will submit only one file.

In the overall context, what is your recommendation for which software should I use?

I published my book quantumidiom on kindle amazon.It allows for the first few chapters to be read free, but the book rapidly evolves beyond what is expressed in this Freeview. Are these chapters enough to entice someone/you to read more?

Hi, I have a kindle fire and I am having trouble palying videos from the web. I am trying to watch tv shows from a website, and in the beginning (for 3 or 4 episodes) it worked perfectly. A few days later, I get a message saying my device cannot play the video. None will work.My internet connection is fine. What could be the problem?

I am looking to upgrade my original Kindle Fire. However I keep flip flopping between an iPad or a Fire.My main concern is with the problems I have with my original Fire, the whole unit freezing on me, I'm afraid the HD ones will have the same problem. Currently I really only use my Fire to read on, I don't like playing games much because it seems really slow to me. Now I have an iPhone so I'm no stranger to the iOS and the App Store and things of that nature. Im a 14 year old girl in 8th grade. I want to talk to a therapist. I havnt been sexually assualted or anything but I just want to be able to talk and someone listen to me and tell me what might be wrong with me and how i might fix it. Kindle fire goes spastic when charging?

I just got my Kindle fire (v.2, but not the HD model) and theres a bug to it that's beginning to irk me.
Whenever it's plugged in, which is ALOT thanks to the crappy battery, the Kindle becomes totally uncalibrated and wacky with the touch screen.the keyboard is totally uncalibrated, and simply dragging my finger along the screen CLICKS everything in its path, causing awful lagging.
I've talked to some other Kindle users and they seem to have no experience with this, although after alittle research ive found a lot of users having similiar issues such as the kindle shutting on and off repeatedly and the touch screen going totally unresponsive.
I don't know if a factory reset is the only opttion or if i should wait for some kind of patch but theres no recalibration setting or anything i can see in the settings, and i just need alittle help on what i should do.

Why won't my tablet connect to my home wireless?

My Acer Iconia Droid Tablet, My wife's Kindle Fire, and My Droid phone keep refusing to connect to our home wireless internet. Our computers and my wife's Droid phone connect with no problems. They were working with the wireless just fine until this weekend. I've tried resetting the router multiple times, and I've checked to make sure they have the right password entered. I tried to download Overdrive for Android, as I am told that Kindle uses Android as an operating system not windows, but after downloading Overdrive setup app. I was unable to locate the function tab to install it. I have already set settings for downloaded applications from unknown sources enabled but still, cant use a setup app when don't know how to run the set up / installation process to make it work when I am blind by being a newby with my little Kindle Fire HD.
