Is there a simple program that will let me put my own screensavers on my Kindle 4 no touch?

I have an old K4 No Touch Kindle with firmware 4.1.1 installed and am trying (without any luck ) to hack it so I can put my own screensaver images on it.

Why Amazon just doesn't let us do this without hacking it is beyond me, but there you go.

ANYONE know how to do this with this particular model and firmware update?

I'm running Windows 7 on a laptop if that helps any.

Kindle dictionaries image?

I just found out my kindle was recently updated, and I've been freaking out because I can't remember what tge book collection and dictionaries folders looked like before the update. I know this is probably extremely weird, but I have autism, and anxiety, so I freak out about the most simple of things. It's only been around a half hour since it happened, and already my arms feel numb from blood loss, just, if you happen to have a picture of what the dictionary and book folders looked like before the update, please send it to me

How to make Kindle books turn right to left, instead of left to right?

I have a Kindle Paperwhite, and I convert and put lots of manga, that I have scanned, into it using Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/). It works great, but the pages turn left to right, which feels unnatural because manga books is read right to left. On the mangas I have bought on Amazon, the books turn right to left and everything works as it should do. Anybody know how I can use Calibre, or any other tool, to fix this?

Want an e-reader, not sure what to buy?

I love reading books, but I live in a small town with no books stores and even when I go to book stores in the city they sometimes don't have the books I'm looking for, I then heard about tablets, I belive they're called E-readers, I think a kindle is an example, so I was trying to find out more about them but I'm having issues, what type of e-reader would you suggest and also how would buy/download books onto the device? Do you have to pay extra for a kindle fire with 4g? - 1

I've never had a tablet before and I'm thinking about buying a kindle fire with wifi and 4g I know they're more expensive than the ones with just wifi but I'm wondering if you have to pay any additional fees or pay like a monthly or yearly contract for it to activate the 4g like a phone. I tried googling it but I just got confused if anyone who has owned or owns a kindle fire with 4g that could explain the whole payment process to me kudos to you and only serious answers please. Kindle Fire HD problem. Amazon app store not responding?

I clicked on my Amazon app store only to be met with the message 'Amazon app store is not responding.' Even after several tries I get the same response. As a result of this I can't use most of my apps. The message 'You need to be logged in to Amazon app store.' comes up. Also, usually in the top left-hand corner of my screen it displays 'Brittany' s Kindle' which has now been replaced with just 'My Kindle.'

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on and how I can fix it?

Buying the Kindle Fire HD (2013)?

I'm planning on purchasing the Kindle Fire HD. I've seen all these other models like the HD 2012 model, HD 8.9, HDX, HDX 8.9 and all those. If I buy this one, will I face any compatability issues from it being an older model? Has it gone out of date at all?

Youtube stopped working on kindle adobe flash player orr?

I was watching videos on YouTube when randomly the next video only played the audio, nothing else. It hasn't mentioned an Adobe flash player but would it help? I restarted it but nothing has changed. I want to download a flash player, which version should it be? Thanks

Why will they come out with a e-book library?

I do like the idea of e-books very much, but since I usually finish a book every night, I find I cannot afford to pay for every book I read. Also current e-book libraries ( such a project gutenburg) only have books that are extremely dated or asanine. It would be tremendously convenient if I could acess all the books in the library on my kindle. But for now I have to run to library every goddamn weekend and pick more books out. Gaah!

Why wont YouTube videos load?

I've cleared my browsing data, cache, and cookies. I've refreshed, closed tabs, and even switched computers. I'm thinking it's something to do with my internet speed, but it's not working on my kindle either on an app I have. There are some specific videos that will play, but other's just won't. The buffering circle will stay there and nothing will come up. I had adblock on one of the computers, so it wasn't that, and on this computer I don't (2 in total). I've searched all around and they all say the same thing, but none of it works. The only conclusion I have is that my internet is slow. I use Google Chrome and Java is being used, flash is updated, the browser is updated, yet just out of random a few days ago, YouTube videos won't play. Some will. I thought it was the time they're uploaded and it's not, I've been able to view videos months ago and some that were uploaded hours ago, but most, I can't see. Is there anything else I can try? Like I said, it was random, nothing downloaded prior, and everything is updated. I'll unplug and plug the router back in, but I'm not sure that'll make a difference. Any help?

I read on the news that now Sherlock Holmes it's public domain… And I'm wondered if now anyone can publish a fanfiction like a book? Whether Amazon Kindle, iTunes, or on paper…

I just got my kindle and I've downloaded some free books to start off. I have "The Great Gatsby" but I'm wondering if I should read it. I HATE super sad endings. I don't mind if it's a little sad but sometimes it's too much like 1984 (Even though that's my favorite book of all time). Could those who have read it tell me if I should read it or to avoid it. If the ending is super sad then I don't mind you spoiling it for me by saying to not read it because I won't anyways.

Bug attracted to my kindles light?

Hey guys, for the past two nights an insect/bug thing has made its way onto my kindle as I watch videos and just walks around the screen aimlessly, it's no bigger than 1mm and is a very pale colour. Just curious as to what bug it may be? Any help will be greatly appreciated:)

Should i buy a kindle paperwhite?

i havent been much of a reader so far in my life, but i want to get into the habit of reading.
the biggest problem i face whenever i read sophisticated novels, such as "lord of the flies" for example, is vocabulary.
if i skip the words that i dont know and try to assume their meanings by context, it feels like im missing half of what i read.
if i look up the words on dictionary everytime, it becomes so annoying that i lose my interest to read.
i heard that kindle has a feature which brings up the definition of a word right at the spot.
will this feature be helpful in my case? Should i buy it?

Which ereader would you recommend?

I am looking to buy my first ereader. In regards to the specs, all I know is that I would prefer it to be back lit for night time reading and have an eInk screen for reading outdoors. I have heard good things about the Kindle PW 2 ($119), but I would prefer a reader that could read.epub and other types of files, and I don't want to be locked into anything (I've heard it's difficult to convert files so that the kindle can read them. Plus, I kinda want to root for the underdog of the US, even though Kobo is #2 in the world). I plan mostly on reading library books and free books from Project Gutenberg.

I have been strongly thinking about the Kobo Glo ($129) or Aura ($139) (not HD). Is the difference between these two great enough to warrant dropping the extra money for the Aura? I've seen that the Aura's screen is flat (no beveled edges), and I was wondering if the Aura has glare when reading outside because of that. I was also wondering if the Glo had the same "reading statistics" setup that the Aura has (I thought it was a quaint idea to keep track of all the reading you do)?

So, for its price, which ereader would you recommend? And what sort of case should I get? I prefer reading with nothing on it, but I want to prevent it from damage in my purse. I do have a Kindle fire right now and I fold the book-like case for that behind it or I just pop it out whenever I want to read.

How to fix Kindle Fire boot loop?

My Kindle Fire HD 7 is stuck in a boot loop. It displays the logo then goes to a screen which states "Kindle Fire System Recovery
Your Kindle doesn't seem to be able to boot. Resetting your device to Factory defaults may help you to fix this issue."
There are then two options you can highlight and select with the volume and power buttons- reboot your kindle and reset to factory defaults. I have tried the reboot option countless times, as well as the manual reboot by holding the power button for 20 seconds. Also my computer does not recognize the device when I connect it with a cable. Is there any way I can avoid losing all of my photos and files saved on my Kindle?

Which Kindle Should I Choose?

Hi, so at my school they give us many HWs where they send us a PDF versioin of a book which we don't have. I use my family's iPad almost all the time because of that. I also have a laptop which my dad gave me after he bought a new one and I only used it fir school but the battery got ruined because he used to charge and use it at the same time. I still haven't bought a new one but I'm going to buy the battery in a few weeks when exams are over. Yesterday my brother was complaining because he wanted to use my laptop and when I told him that it's mine and I only use it for school he told me "isn't the iPad enough!". I guess he's right, so since I need a PDF reader I thought I might buy a Kindle… But I also want it to do some basic things (be able to show colors, play music, surf web). BUT I don't want a tablet! I mean I want it touch screen (preferrably), but I don't want to be able to do too many things which can distract me while I'm trying to work. I waste some time on games while I'm using the iPad, so I want something quite simple, just not… Pre-historic simple. :P I'm only 14, so I can't get a job so I can't afford to spend lots of money:/ I have a huge list of stuff to buy from eBay so it can't be too expensive… Definitely not more than 150 EUR please:) Any help will be appreciated!
