At my school you have to basically try out to be the valedictorian, and I have made it past the first round. Now I have to write a rough draft of a speech. I was thinking of using a quote that had a metaphor in it and just relating different things to the metaphor throught the speech. For example, the quote I was using was "The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled." -Plutarch. Would it be stupid to say things like that school is like a bonfire for other reasons, and then give examples of that?
