Why won't my kindle fire screen come on when the volume is still working?

When I hit the power button nothing happens but when I hit the volume up or down buttons it makes the same beep it always has louder or softer depending which one I hit. Is there a way to fix it without losing all my stuff?

Anyone else love amazon?

I have no idea how that business works. Half of the I items I order probably cost more to ship than the price of the product. And even then I sometimes return them, which is free of course. All of the products are competitively priced and that's if other stores even provide them. I mean what the ****. Then all of their other services, most importantly to me, the kindle store. Then they also offer a few good shows and movies with prime which is totally unnecessary. I feel like I should be donating to amazon, how in the hell are they in business.

Good book about dinosaurs?

I'm looking for a book about dinosaurs. Not a list of different species, but a book about their environment, behavior, habits, etc.
(Kindle format availability preferred)

How much firewood would you need to last 16+ hours? In the woods?

Hi all thanks for taking the time to read this, want to go camping and have the usual caveman style fire but don't know or want to know is there anyway I can decipher how much I'd need for a whole night 12+ Hours. I've read about the Long fire but even though that burns for hours and is easy to set up you need alot of large sticks and logs whereas more typical stylexample fires are more time consuming and take more planning it takes less wood per say I can imagine. I know what the rate for a long fire is about 1/2 inch of wood per hour you want it to burn for then just add sticks across the platform of it
Two short logs to long logs stick them full of kindling spend a few hours gathering thicker sticks possibly logs then light it up. How much wood woukd I need per hour for something like a dakota teepee or log cabin? A armful of sticks per hour? Anyone help it might save my life one day lol ANEWER Please.

Is this a thought provoking poem?

Riddles of Rhyme

Think back in time,
or try to refine…
those fleeting glimpses
of utterly pure soul-shine!
Build a romantic shrine,
memories of summertime,
fresh air, snowflakes and
those days when you were mine!

Decode those mysterious
inscriptions, carved deep,
interpret mythical spells,
forge a foothold back to me!
Implore Angelical tactics,
evolking ancient Gods of war,
for it is lore, to pledge an eternity!

Time now weaves its craft,
silently stitching our fantasy
of thought, bursting into dance
within guilded ballroom, in a trance!
Masquerade in disguise, so sweetly
kiss my hand, whilst love kindles,
in honest humble eyes, yet pardon me!
Riddles of rhyme got lost, in a game of chance!

Is there a way to transfer books from an Amazon Kindle to a Barnes & Noble Nook?

The B&N Nook GlowLight Plus is a superior product, but a relative has all of her books so far on a Kindle.

Can she transfer books from her Kindle to a Barnes & Noble Nook (with only moderate effort)?

Thanks.
