How to download free apps on a kindle via Amazon?

I just got a Kindle but am having trouble downloading apps. Amazon states that for free apps you don't need to give credit card info but every time I try to download a free app it tells me I need to put out that info or it will lead somewhere without explaining to me what to do. I am thankful for any advice.

Can you put torrented books on a Kindle?

Planning on buying a Kindle, not really planning on paying for books (if I can avoid it). I just want to know what the quality of torrented books is like and if it's easy to put them on to a kindle. Otherwise I'll just stick to the library.

Books to recommend? I haven't read a book for so long I now feel disgusted with myself?

Last time I read a book was last year in June, which was Fight Club and The Catcher in the Rye, and thats because I was on holiday! I really want to go back to reading now. It's near to the end summer holidays and I'm going back to Uni and I just want to change myself now. I feel like I wasted a lot of time by working, going out drinking and taking drugs a bit, but I now want to crack down with work and do well. I want to go back reading! I liked books like No Country For Old Men, The Road, Fight Club, The Catcher in the Rye (is my favourite one), and many more but I would like some to recommend so I can read it on my Kindle. I feel like I'm losing my vocabulary so I really want to improve that now. I'm 19 and I don't feel intelligent anymore like I don't know whats happening in the world now, I don't read any books and I feel like I feel like I'm losing my grasp of the English language! I no longer feel like I have the ability to write above the first grade level, I constantly rethink phrases I use and wonder if they are actual phrases or if I just made them up. The same thing happens with words, I feel like my vocabulary has shrunk significantly. Basically, I will just like some advise how to improve myself from starting to read - some easy and interesting books for now and then I will try and improve. Also, I want to start knowing whats happening in the world like with Russia and Ukraine, , etc. Is there any good articles for young people to read to know whats happening.

Wi-Fi problems to deal with?

I have a Zyxel modem/router and as for as the pc's it's good. But, the other devices like my Kindle and the Rokus on Wi-Fi, they just want work. Yeah, i put in the right password that can with the router put just wat connect to wi-fi.

My Kindle won't connect to my wifi and I can't download bools?!

So my friend lent me his Kindle and i registered on Amazon and everything was fine.
But when I tried to connect to my wifi, for some reason it won't let me. Sometimes it saves the its "incomplete" and other times it won' even find it. It connects to other peoples wifi… Just not mine.
also. When it does connect to other wifis. It wont let me search or download any books.
Yes, i tried turning it on and off again and yes I even tried rebooting the whole thing.
What is wrong? And how do it fix it?

Should I get a kindle fire hdx?

I've had nothing but good experiences and support with my old kindle, but i think it's time to upgrade to new technology. Does anyone have a kindle fire hdx? Do you like it? Do you get to keep all your books from your old kindle?
