I doubt that the rooting process was glitchy, I used this guide (http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/ipad-and-tablets/how-to-root-the-kindle-fire-hd-50010451/). I've tried Kindlefree and a couple launchers but nothing works. I just get a black screen. I'm open to suggestions…
