Only rarely do I see the option for either offered. I truly think if an author writes a book and is satisfied with his story and it's going to be published no one should edit it to make it shorter or to their liking!
I purchase a lot of books on my Kindle; and it just recently dawned on me that I'm not getting my full monies worth, meaning I want the original book not someone's idea of what it should be.
