Is this a good idea to learn Spanish?

I'm gonna get a Kindle Paperwhite soon. Thinking of downloading Spanish Ebooks so I can read and widen my vocabulary.

Any author recommendations? Any genre will do.

Also, as part of my self-learning immersion "program" I've let myself hear (for about over a month now) listening to Spanish radio via the app "Radios de Espana". I listen currently mainly to "Los 40 Principales" y " Cadena Ser" any other good recommendations?

I've noticed that listening to radio doesnt help much cause one, they speak too fast. And two, they speak in their accent which makes understanding a little bit tricky
