Are Charles Dickens novels difficult to read?

I have free Charles Dickens novels on my Kindle which are Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol. I wouldn't mind reading them but I imagine they could be difficult to read since Victorian writing styles are much different than modern styles. I have seen both the films for those books which could make following the story easier and I am English so I know what a few Victorian words mean but I am only 17.So can anyone who has read the books tell me what they are like to read?
