Is the Kindle Fire HD 8 gb enough for books only?

I plan on buying my son a 7" Kindle Fire HD (not the HDX). It will be used ONLY for books. I will block apps, videos, music, etc, as he has an iPhone. How many books could he fit on the 8gb? (Not audiobooks). How many books could fit on the 16gb? If it matters, he really only reads a book once, so I imagine he could delete it when he's done. But just in case he wants to save any… How many could he save, roughly?

In India both are of same price.
Is there any enhancement in audio over headphones in Kindle as it uses dolby technology(or is it just for stereo speakers). I own sennheiser HD518 headphones.
Second thing, i have many pdf books and magazines, can i transfer them to Kindle for reading purpose, as i heard Kindle is all about amazon market.

Kindle Fire HD upgrade 7.4.8?

I've owned my Kindle Fire HD 7" since the middle of August and this is the first time experiencing an upgrade. What is different now since there was an upgrade. Were there fixed bugs? What things were made better? How often are there upgrades? Is it a coincidence that the fourth generation iPod touch was also updated today? A link would really help if there is one on this subject. Thanks a lot!
