Why does a Kindle Fire discharge so quickly?

My Kindle Fire (8.9") drains power about as fast as it charges, even from a wall socket. Eight hours charge results in maybe eight hours of use, tops.Is this normal?

Trying to pick best Kindle for myself - It's my first Kindle?

Okay so I am going to purchase my very first kindle. I've been putting it off for a couple years now, but alas, I must buy one. I love books, the real books and would like to use my kindle to read books I can't kind else ware. I don't need it to do anything other than load books for me to read. I don't need anything fancy, nor do I want anything fancy, just to read. I also don't want to spend a fortune, but I want a good kindle.So any input into this? thanks!

How do Amazon gift cards work? Where can I get one?

Ok, so my birthday is coming up and I was thinking about getting an Amazon gift card. But the reason I want one is to buy some used stuff, and I didn't know if it worked for that purpose. When you redeem the card, does it automatically add money to your account that you can use as you please, or can you only buy kindles and other stuff that amazon sells new? Also, where can I find them. Maybe I just didn't see them, but I couldn't find any at Walmart. I found some at Krogers, but I don't go there very often. Does anyone know where all they are available?

Packing for Washington DC?

I am 14 and I am spending the weekend (from Saturday to Monday) with my cousins in Washington DC (however I am staying at my aunt's house in Virginia which is about 20-30 minutes from DC so its not big deal) and I am still unsure of what to pack. I am staying 2 nights 3 days and here is what I am planning on bringing so far just in case

Pajamas (2 pairs)
Clothes (2 pairs, because obviously I will be dressed when I leave tomorrow)
Kindle Fire w/charger
iPhone w/ charger
Money
Makeup (just a little- bb cream, concealer, powder, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick)
Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash
Toiletries (like deodorant, toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush, straightener, hair ties, etc.)
A bathing suit (do they have pools in DC? lol)
Sunglasses
A hoodie (still not sure if Im bringing this or not)
Feminine Products (just in case; please no rude comments about it, thanks)
Glasses

What are other things I should bring to DC? What should I wear and how much money should I bring?

I bought a kindle, my country is not supported by amazon. Am I screwed?

Downloaded some books on kindle fire where are they?

Hi everybody :) Today I download some ebooks online from project Gutenberg on my new Kindle Fire HD.It said download was complete but when I went to "books" or "docs" none of them were there! Can somebody help me out? Thanks!

Breeding Mini Rex Rabbits?

I bred my tricolored mini rex doe to a beautiful broken otter mini rex buck earlier today. This is my doe's first time being pregnant, and I want some information. I researched on how much to feed, and lots say a cup a day until a few days before kindling.In those few days, how much do I feed my doe? And any other information on feeding or kindling would be extremely helpful.

Help for my kindle fire hd?

So i have a kindle fire, I've had it for a few months, my charger for it broke so i ordered a ten foot long cord, after i plugged in my kindle everything went bad on it, the touch screen doesn't work right and i have to reset it so it works okayish.i looked it up and it said i have to use the charger that came with it but what if my kindle is still messed up? do you think i should try out the charger thing? and suggestions would be nice.please and thanks you.
