Password Creation
The worst thing you can do is use your pet or spouse name as your password, and adding the number 1 to the end does not make it any more secure. What I recommend you do is to take something that is important to you, made of up more than one short word. Then assign a number value to letters and add a series of numbers to encrypt it. If you are just starting out with this, use N+1 encryption. If the letter is an A, make it a B. Using this method, the word âCatLoverâ becomes âDbuMpwfsâ. I would then convert either the first or last letter to a number, using its place in the alphabet, making âDbuMpwfsâ become âDb21Mpwf19â. Adding punctuation is also a great way to add security to a password. The finished product could look like âDb21!Mpwf19â. This password would be easy for you to remember, and make a simple hit to remind yourself, however it would be very hard for someone else to guess.
