A few queries about Kindle Paperwhite?

Hello all,

Just a couple of things I wanted to ask. Firstly, I have no internet at home, so was going to go for a paperwhite with 3g, however, if you purely need the 3g just to download the books, I don't see the point in paying the extra. Is that correct? Do you just need it for downloading?

Also, when I first receive the Kindle, does it need 'setting up', or is it ready to go? If it needs 'setting up', would I need internet connection for that?

I would rather not pay the extra for the 3g as I can download books using my computer at work.

Sorry if these sound like silly questions. Beginner here. Any help would be great:)
